A 23 year old teen that is an under-graduate and then

making him onerous for such a high post is certainly an

eye-brow raising thing. It's not the degree that matters

though, but I believe that there is a lot more for a 23 year

old to learn and explore at this age. And on the contrary

if any decision goes haywire it will be he who will be

held responsible for. No doubt that we Indians have lot

of brains and are hardworking enough, but this is surely

a burden on him and a matter of concern for NMMC too.

I still feel there could have been better and sensible

decision regarding this post.

Age is not the issue, above 21 is all right. A college

dropout though seems dangerous for a mayor's

position. No doubt even college dropouts have done big

great things, for example Steve Jobs. But for the good of

Navi Mumbai, I feel he should be properly interviewed

and tested, and preferably should be selected once he

has completed college. Too young and not legally

educated mayor could be dangerous for Navi Mumbai,

but there are chances that it can also cause a revolution.

A young politician may bring reform in the political

environment but people tend to fall into politics to get a

shortcut to easy money and power. We have faced

problems whenever we gave power in wrong hands but

we can't afford to do that again. The post should be given

to the person having a good track record.

According to me, it is not a correct decision. There

should be some eligibility criteria for this position which

includes the completion of graduation. The person

should also have some prior experience in serving

public. A big name like GANESH NAIK attached, should

not be given importance. The NAIKS are intending to

capture every major position in the city. In that case, the

post mayor should be changed to highly influential. VAIBHAV
