Sadly, October’s program and workshop has been cancelled

due to travel restrictions. Our Board of Directors are issuing you talented members a new challenge. October’s program and meeting will include a special parade of projects that have made you wonder……

“What Was I Thinking?”

You’ve been going though your stash, and see several pieces and you say to yourself, I ought to do a project to use these parts and pieces. So, you start putting things to-gether. In a few days, your project is assembled. You stand back and really look at

your creation.

“Oh, My! What was I thinking?”

Members present at that October meeting will select the “Best of Show” projects for the largest and smallest projects with prizes for the winners.

Tips by Char

TIP: Another quilting tool that is very useful is a SHEET PROTEC-TOR. Before working on free motion quilting, warm up your muscle memory by simulating the quilting motions you will be using. Tape the paper quilt design you will be using to a table, mark a dot on a sheet protector and follow the lines of the design. If the design is small you can slip the paper inside the sheet protector and trace the lines with a washable marker as many times as necessary for your brain to register the movements necessary to produce the design with machine stitching. The sheet protector can be cleaned and used many times. TIP: Use PINCUSHIONS to organize your pins. Make pincushions from left over quilt blocks. Use a different pincushion for each type of pin. One for straight pins; one for safety pins; one for threaded needles: one for applique pins would be useful. Sometimes my pincushions are so full of every type of pin it is too difficult to quickly grab the type of pin I want. For some of you using a different pincushion for each type would be too organized, but the suggestion might give some of you an idea for a quick Christmas gift for friends or family.
