Mission statement: We answer the dreams of chronically ill, physically challenged and abused children ages three to eighteen, whose families cannot fulfill their requests due to the financial strain that the child's illness may cause.

Bill Sample, a Philadelphia police officer, started the foundation after working with a children’s hospital for many years.
Since 1976, Sunshine Foundation has made over 34,000 dreams become reality.

Dream Requests: The dream requests that we receive are as unique and individual as the children that we serve! Common dreams are requests for a personal computer, shopping spree, or meeting a favorite celebrity or sports star
The most popular dream is: visiting the Central Florida theme parks with accomodations at our Dream Village.

Nestled in a fairy-tale setting only a few miles from the Central Florida attractions, the 22-acre Dream Village is a peaceful but magical oasis for families to escape hospitals, treatments and doctors.
Our goal is to let the children and their families just have fun and forget they are sick, even if it’s just for a short period of time. Fun and laughter can make a huge difference in the life of a child.

Start a volunteer Airport Greeters program to greet the families at the airport, and assist with finding baggage claim and rental car areas.
Many of our families have never traveled by airplane, and this will help make their trip to Central Florida stress-free!
