Workgroup  Topics

14

Design  Workgroup  Mission

Dra[  to  be  discussed    Develop   and   publish   DER   design   data   taxonomy,  informa@on   models   and   interchange   standards,  based  on  the  SWG-‐generated  Market  Requirements  Document   (MRD),   harmonized   with   each   of   the  func@onal   categories   of   Feasibility,   Construc@on,  Opera@ons  and  Finance,  resul@ng  in  a  specifica@on  that   is   ready   to   use,   allows  data   portability   across  the  value  chain,  increases  solar  bankability  through  data   transparency,   allows   for   richer   analy@cs,   and  will  enable  the  industry  to  grow  fast  and  thrive.

15

Ques@ons  to  be  Answered

•  The  Six  Topics  Iden@fied  as  part  of  Design  Data  are  on  the  previous  slide.      o  Is  this  the  correct  way  to  compartmentalize  this  work  group?  o  Priori@ze  or  ordering  of  topics

•  Design  documenta@on  is  very  important  to  the  process.    Should  we  keep  some  of  these  documents  in  electronic  storage,  or  should  we  just  try  to  capture  certain  important  data  from  them?

•  We  encourage  all  in  this  WG  to  be  ac@ve  in  A-‐group  mee@ngs,  input  and  review  to  help  produce  a  complete  and  meaningful  Market  Requirements  Document  (MRD).  o  While  the  SGIP  Deployment  WG  is  most  per@nent  to  Design  Data,  all  SGIP  WGs  are  important.

16

Goals  –  Major  Milestones

 •  Review  MRD  and  perform  standards  evalua@on  and  GAP  analysis

o  Ini@al  review  by  November  1,  2016  •  Develop  Product  Requirements  Document  (PRD)

o  Ini@al  dra[  by  December  1,  2016      •  Develop  data  standards  and  technical  dra[s

o  Ini@al  dra[s  by  January  1,  2017  •  Develop  API’s  and  compliance  test  framework

o  Ini@al  release  by  February  1,  2017  •  Itera@ve  process  running  through  November  2017

o  Work  in  close  coordina@on  with  SWG  while  MRD  is  being  developed  o  Address  as  many  use  cases  from  MRD  as  is  feasible

17

Interna@onal  Standards,  Best  Prac@ces,  and  Exis@ng  Taxonomies  (par@al  list)

o  Design  and  equipment  standards  from  IEC  o  Construc@on  standards  from  ASTM  o  Codes,  regula@ons  (and  the  version  used),  such  as  NEC  (2011)  and  local  AHJ’s

o  IEC  RE  concep@on  through  final  acceptance  Cer@ficate  data
