PROJECT
Working withSuntuf CorrugatedPolycarbonate Sheets
CleaningUse a mild detergent and clean, warmwater. Change the water regularly—toomuch grit and dirt can cause scratching.Use a soft rag or sponge, rinse with cleanwater, and blot dry. Never use abrasivekitchen cleansers, window-cleaningsprays, or solvents such as gasoline.
CuttingFor making straight cuts in sheets of morethan 3 mm (0.12 in.) in thickness, use acircular saw or band saw. A medium-to-finetoothed blade (6-12 teeth per inch) worksbest. Expect a cutting speed of roughly300-400 feet per minute. For thinnersheets, careful cutting with a band saw ispossible, but sheers or a router may allowfor greater precision. Hold the sheet downwhen cutting. Work the saw firmly butdon’t force it!
DrillingBack up the sheet with scrap wood. Usea sharp steel drill bit, a slow speed, and amoderate amount of muscle. Too muchpressure will cause the hole to chip outunevenly. Too much speed will draw thesheet up onto the threads of your drill bit.
InstallationUntil you’re ready to install, retain SuntufCorrugated Polycarbonate Panels in theiroriginal package. Ideally, store them on aflat pallet in a dry, shaded place, and avoidextreme humidity, dust, or direct sunlight.During installation, do not stand or walk onsheets lacking adequate support. Verifythat the UV-protected side of installedsheets are facing out to the sun.
