InfoTrac OneFile

A periodical index to more than 6,000 scholarly journals, magazines and newspapers, nearly 3,000 in full-text. It covers education, art, business, humanities, natural and social sciences, technology, and law from 1980 to the present.

ScienceDirect

This resource provides SUNYConnect users with the full-text of about 850 scholarly journals (more than a million articles) in the sciences and social sciences, with backfiles to 1997. It also indexes and abstracts many more journals.

netLibrary E-books

SUNYConnect makes available over 5,000 electronic books on a variety of subjects, notably medicine and health, computer science, economics and business, literature, history, and technology.

MultiMedia Archive

Formerly known as AP/PhotoArchive. Includes 750,000 photos and other images, such as maps and graphs, back to the 1840’s, half a million audio files (from the 1930’s on) and 700,000 AP news stories from the last 5 years.

SUNY Connect Database Selection Process

• SUNY Libraries Contract Advisory Team (SLiCAT) is composed of Library representatives from campus types

• Contact your representative with database purchase suggestions

• Suggestions are forwarded to the SUNY Connect Advisory Council

• A new “core database package” will be implemented in July 2003

Access E-Resources Off-Campus

• All the databases we’ll use today are available to you at your home computer from most SUNY campuses

• Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) uses an Internet address that SUNY Connect doesn’t recognize

• You will have to “authenticate” or log-in

• Contact your campus librarians for assistance with your campus log-in procedure
