We first researched the benchmark standards for science for the state of Arkansas which can be found at the “Arkansas Department of Education” website.

After we reviewed the standards that were required, we then began to locate different science experiments that could be useful in a 3rd grade classroom

Page 5: Super Science Experiments

We were each assigned topics to research and we brought projects and activities that corresponded with our science topics that we were assigned.

We divided up the tasks for typing up the benchmark, purpose of, instructions, and materials lists for our activities that we selected for our book.

We finally combined all of our experiments and created a cover page, dividers, and bond our books.

We donated our finished product to the 3rd grade teachers at Root Elementary in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Our final hopes for this project are to aid the teachers in future planning and excite their students about science.

Group Projects require communication, understanding, and patience.

Team members must be considerate of each other’s feelings and opinions.

We spent a great deal of time discussing, researching, writing, and creating our book.

We each feel that we had a significant part in the creation of our project.

We developed communication skills, responsibility for our actions, patience, and understanding.

A future group could research other subjects such as math, English, or social studies to compile a similar book of activities in these, or other subjects.

Another option would be to gather donations or supplies to create a kit with all of the materials needed to complete the projects included in the book and distribute them to Root Elementary, or other elementary schools.
