Supervisor’s messageWe all want our children to grow up withpositive attitude, with confidence and to acquire the necessary life skills at the appropriate time. It’s essential for us toprovide a loving and caring environment for our children if we want them to learn accordingly and attain the prescribed goals. At Bhavans, we aim at providing the best possible kind of creative, innovative and challenging curriculum for our children to face today’s world. To make this possible, we have a team of dedicated teachers to carry out the shared beliefs of good schooling at Bhavans . We dearly treasure the trust which parents have bestowed on us and pledge to work together with parents to provide the best for the whole person development of our children.

BHARATIYA VIDYA BHAVAN’S PRIVATE INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH SCHOOL,ABU DHABI

During the month of October, we had our kindergarten students put on a really exciting themed fashion show titled– “BEST OUT OF WASTE’. We had our students along with their parents design and make garments out of paper and plastic waste that we generate in our homes.

The students wore these beautiful garments and they proudly wore them as they walked the ramp displaying their creations. An important lesson that we wanted to teach our kids is limit the amount of waste we generate in our homes and even the waste we do generate from homes can be made useful in other ways.

In the month of November, we had an exciting series of individual competitions for our kindergarten students to practice their reading, speaking and artistic skills. Activities ranged from Show and Tell , Story Telling, Extempore speech, Dancing and Singing.

In all categories, the students put out an incredible effort showcasing their skills. Competition amongst students was tight and ultimately we awarded the first , second and third prizes to students in each category. More than the prizes, we especially appreciate all our wonderful students for taking the time and effort into developing these very important skills.

The Show and Tell competition allowed students to bring their favourite toys and they described that to everyone clearly. In the Story Telling competition, they narrated their story with actions and emotions, which was really entertaining for everyone. Folk dancing in multiple languages illustrated the diversity amongst our students. Couple of students sang English songs to bring out their artistic ability with grace and rhythm that amazed everyone.

• A Drawing and ColouringCompetition was held for the Kindergarten students in the month of October 2015. The children participated and displayed their colouringskills. It was an open theme competition and we let the students to draw and colourwhatever thought that came to their mind.

The children’s drawings ranged from colourful scenery to animals, toys, gardens and fruits. It was entirely a pleasure watching their fine motor skills drawing out their favouritecharacters and neatly colouring them with their choice of colour pencils and crayons. Everyone enjoyed this activity. We had lots of our children proudly showing their drawings to their friends and teachers. It was truly an enjoyable day for them. Winners were selected on their effective use of colour, neatness of their drawing and complexity of their art.

• This October we also had our Annual Kindergarten Sports Meet which featured a variety of sports activities ranging from flat race, event race for boys and girls, plus a drill session with colourful pom poms.

These competitions were a lot of fun with the children enjoying the outdoor activities and watching their classmates compete with each other. Prizes were given for the First, Second and Third place winners and appreciated their abilities with medals and certificates.

At the end of the day, we want to involve our children in as much physical activity as possible to help them train their growing mind and physical bodies in gross motor skills.

Children love exploring the new language, alphabet and words with different sounds. The language is taught with the help of various activities to make the learning vibrant. Children enjoy learning newlessons; love exchanging their learning views and teaching process. An additional language introduced early in life, will help children to listen, speak, read, and use their skills as they grow.
