Supply Chain Management Handbook(SCMH): Focus on the How, not the What

Background:Up to recently, IAQG produced several aerospace standards defining requirements but little or no written guidance was available for clarification and application.

Solution:Develop a Supply Chain Management Handbook that provide clarification, application, and sharing of best practices to enhance supply chain quality management system understanding and improvement

Supply Chain Management Handbook(SCMH): Focus on the How, not the What

• What is the SCMH ?A collection of guidance materials, trainings, best practices for suppliers.

• What are the Objectives of the SCMH ?Complement existing standards, focusing on how to meet requirements.

• Benefits for the Aerospace IndustryImproves supply chain conformance and improvement to quality standards by providing IAQG guidance, thus increasing product quality and on time delivery

Up to now, IAQG produced standards describing requirements, now we need to help suppliers to develop by helping them understand our requirements and by providing guidance and best practices on how to fulfill requirements and achieve objectives and expectations Example 9100 states “The organization shall select suppliers which meet organization requirements”, but does not say how to assure or demonstrate that they meet these requirements” “Supplier Selection and Capability Assessment” is a guideline on how to assess supplier capability and select them SCMH is a Key Element of the IAQG Strategy providing guidance material for the supply chain

SCMH contents have been developed by member companies of the IAQG and the document is structured to cover the entire product life cycle process
