DESCRIPTION

Generation guiders is a community based organization that focuses on orphan and vulnerable children in the society, not forgetting women and people with disability. Since its formation, it has managed to send over 20 beneficiaries back to school both in primary and secondary levels. Due to its commitment, it has created some programme to host the 100 beneficiaries currently on the program. Dorcas comes from a very poor family and lives in a children’s orphanage.

“I could hardly wait for the moment to leave home to join high school” Says Dorcas“then a cloud of darkness suddenly engulfed my world- there was no money to pay for my high school educa-tion, I felt trapped in poverty, I had promised myself that i would work hard and become a Doctor in future, this almost seemed like a dream that will never come true’’ says Dorcas .

Dorcas was admitted at Githurai mixed secondary school through G.G Education support program Cur-rently a form 4 candidate and she has consistently per-formed well, she is a member of school football team. She needs Ksh 9,550 school fees for this term

Name Yvonne Mukhunji

Yvonne comes from a poor family and lives in a chil-dren’s orphanage. Her ambition as she is waiting to join high school is to become a Fly Doctor in future and to help other needy children.

Yvonne is an exemplary student in her KCPE she attain 290 marks.

“I thank God with all my heart because of people like you” she said “At that time I lived with my Grandma who was very old and couldn’t provide me with any bread. We lived in a house where jiggers and flees were more than enough”. Her old grandmother had no any income to support Nancy education. Nancy w was lonely.Nancy was rescued and taken in a children’s orphanage in Githurai Kimbo where he lives with other children’s. In the children’s orphanage Nancy was cares for and provided with every basic need she needed, “They cared for me and also gave me a balanced diet” she said.  Nancy Future plan is to become a Doctor/ Teacher with the passion he has to support other children to access educa-tion so as to have a productive countryHer school fees per term is 18,000She is already sponsored.

Nelly lives in children’s home in Githurai Kimbo. She is an abandoned child, who up to date

‘Does not know the where about of any of her rela-tives. Generation Guiders through Education Support Program came in to give a hand of support and Nelly became the beneficiary. She enjoys being in school throughout and she desires to be a nurse, which she is more than Confident is possible.

This upcoming doctor is very jovial and always entertaining to his teachers and fellow students. Kevin lives in Kibera with is grandmother.his school fees per term is Ksh 14,100He has sponsor already and he is working hard to be come a doctor in future.

Roselyn Nasike is the eighth born in a family of nine Her parents are not working but still struggle to provide the little that they can get for her while she was in school preparing to sit for her KCPE National Examination. She managed to sit for her K.C.P.E exam in the year 2014 and man-aged to get 347 marks. Being day scholar she had to walk long distance to school, it was challenging since she is asthmatic, some-times it was hard due to lack of medicine. “I have great vision and goal in life; the only way to accomplish is through education.” She said

Beatrice comes from a very extremely poor back-ground family.

She lives with an elder sister who does not have any resources or income, Beatrice would like to become an actress. A form 2 student at Kuria Memoria Senior School, she is a active member of drama club in school.

Sheila was born in Kibera slums. She then began life all together with her grandmother who she proudly calls ‘shosh’. “Shosh vowed never to let me suffer and she is alive. This inspires me a lot.

Every time I think of how hard she works to make sure that I have something to eat and dress me up, this moti-vates to be a banker I wanna be.” She says.

Diana makungu is a girl aged 14 years old sat her KCPE 2014 and attain 265 marks. She schooled at  love somi africa school situated in kibera slum. She  has been brought up by a single parent that's her mother her father died when she was 3years old. she is potential girl which given a chance can pursue her education to the highest level .she wants to be a surgeon  in future and her carrier is reading, playing football and dancing .she is a jovial girl ready to interact and speak out her mind and very eager to learn new things.

“After their father and mother died, no one wanted to be associated with them." Iddah had to drop out of school due to many challenges. Her elder brother whom they live with to date, could not afford to cater for her education.  When she heard about G.G Educa-tion Support Program she applied and she was short-listed for the chance. She then passed the vetting and was enrolled in school. She is a form 4student at St. Linda’s High School-Ruiru putting more effort to make sure that she becomes a nurse. She believes she can make a wonderful nurse in future. Iddah is well disciplined and a cheerful girl.Her school fees per term is Ksh 24,000She is already sponsored.

Name Alishakiz Ongoche

Alishakiz mother commit susuide when she was a six month old and her father is unknown due to the plea-sure from the family to revile the father.

A kind elder sister who is Akishakiz aunt took her in and cared for her since her mother's death. The Aunty has children of his own and takes care of his elderly mother so he sought help from Generation Guiders office and Akishakiz was admitted to school, she is 3 years old now, a nursery pupil looking for sponsor to help her.

Rydon lives with his grandmother in Kibera, Nairobi. Before he joined Generation Guiders Education Sup-port Program, he used to be a scrap metal collector.

He used this mean to make a daily bread for himself and other siblings. According to RydonG.G came in time when he needed not only educa-tion but also self realization. He is a pupil inJacridge School Ruiru, where he is a cvlass 8 candi-date 2015.
