The Missouri Botanical Garden needs the community’s financial support to remain a vibrant cultural attraction and world-leading plant science operation. Your support is especially essential because it demonstrates that the corporate community understands the value of the Garden in enriching cultural life, inspiring learners, and protecting the planet.
Please support the Garden.
3
The Garden invites you to review sponsorship
opportunities for 2011. We hope you find the perfect
opportunity to strengthen your company’s position in the
community while you strengthen the community itself.
4
YOU GIVEYour contributions support a beloved local cultural institution with a global impact. Nearly one million people visit the Missouri Botanical Garden and its family of attractions each year. As a sponsor, you will reach students, teachers, artists, retirees, parents, gardeners, executives, voracious readers, environmentalists, and much more. Your sponsorship also will put you in touch with Garden members, who are among the region’s most educated, most affluent, and most socially engaged (see details on page 16).
Beyond the St. Louis region is a far-reaching and globally respected science-and-conservation effort that stands to truly change the course of events for the planet. The Garden conducts the most productive and comprehensive plant research program in the world. This work supports critical progress on issues such as countering global climate change, reducing hunger, and managing disease.
The Garden is among local organizations that claim world-changing status, and it is making a difference for generations that will follow—here and abroad. When you give to the Garden, you support this work.
The Garden hosts an impressive array of Garden festivals, floral shows, and other special events. We invite you to review these events and consider sponsorship opportunities ranging from $2,500 to $100,000.
Learn more about these events and opportunities at www.mobot.org/sponsoranevent or by calling (314) 577-0217.

This outdoor market, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2011, is a celebration of the best the state has to offer. Growers, chefs, artists, bakers, craftspeople, florists, jewelers, potters, and sculptors bring their wares to the Market to create a shopping experience unduplicated in these parts.
The festive weekend has become the unofficial kickoff of the holiday shopping season for more than 25,000 people each year. Many converge before dawn to be the first to sample the goods at the Market and see what’s new among the 140-plus vendors. They enjoy live music, great food, and a Kids Corner that features cow-milking, barnyard animals, and activities for the whole family.
Present Best of Missouri Market - $50,000
Sponsorship of the Market offers several opportunities to be mentioned in live radio and television interviews. Members’ Family PicnicJuly 11, 2011
A meal on the Garden’s lawn during Members’ Family Picnic takes summer fun to a whole new level. Families enjoy jugglers, magicians, face painters, balloon artists, and live musical entertainment.
Ghouls in the GardenOctober 22, 2011
Amid the lovely landscape of the Missouri Botanical Garden is a 19th century mausoleum, the final resting place of Garden founder Henry Shaw. What better place to gather for the holiday in which we shed everyday identities to become vampires, mummies, witches, and ghouls? More than 1,500 Halloween revelers come to Ghouls in the Garden each year to roam the grounds and pick up treats. This holiday favorite has become so popular that the Garden recently expanded it to allow families who are not members to participate.
Breakfast with SantaDecember 3–4, 2011
In the hectic days of the holiday season, many Santas put on the red costume and big white beard. But the Santa who greets children at Breakfast with Santa is among the most authentic in town. This sell-out event is so popular that the Garden will host two days of Breakfast with Santa in 2011. The event includes a breakfast buffet, a take-home craft, and a moment with Mr. Claus.
Present all five Members’ Events - $20,000Present any single Members’ Event - $5,000The Garden promotes these events heavily to members. Sponsors enjoy acknowledgements through social media, e-mail, and postcard communications. Sponsors also receive invitations to participate in these special events (excluding Breakfast with Santa).

Something magical happens when 3,000 lovely Blue Morpho butterflies are released en masse in the conservatory of the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House. Crowds are captivated. Participants are hushed. Time stops, if only for a moment. March Morpho Mania has become increasingly popular in its early years and grown to attract more than 20,000 people during the month. It is a wonderful opportunity for a sponsor and delivers an important message on preserving our natural world. This month-long event highlights a conservation partnership between the Butterfly House and a rain forest preserve in Costa Rica
Present March Morpho Mania - $10,000
Benefits include your company’s name and logo on a 30-foot banner outside the Butterfly House for the entire month of March. Your company can also enjoy an exclusive butterfly release—an unforgettable experience.
