The Goal The Goal

The CIB Programme goal is to ensure effective institution-building of a limited number of core institutions that are central to the preparation, negotiation, implementation and monitoring of the future Association Agreement and DCFTA




The CIB: main features

“Agreement-driven”: capacity gaps and needs in the core institutions have been identified in view of the specific role and responsibilities that will derive from the new agreements

Fully integrated in the overall support the EU provides to relevant reform strategies in each country:

• horizontal level: good governance and human rights, economic governance, anti-corruption, modernisation of public administration

• sector level: agriculture and food safety, integrated border management, migration management, etc.

CO-FINANCING BY MOLDOVA

For Twinning and TA operations, Moldova will provide offices and counterpart staff. For purchase of equipment or upgrading of specialized infrastructure, Moldova will contribute financially with a minimum of 20%.
