Outline of Kings

United Kingdom: 1 Kings 1-11

Solomon departed from wholehearted devotion to God.

± He broke the first commandment by his inclusive policy of allowing idol

worship at Jerusalem

± He allowed the multiplicity of wives to be his ruination by allowing his heart tobe turned away from God

± It was a blend of physical and spiritual polygamy as he worshiped YHWH andAshtoreth, Molech, and Chemosh while erecting a high place on the mountain

east of Jerusalem where Molech, the god of the Ammonites, and Chemoshthe god of the Moabites took place.
