To curb potential drop-out rates due to lack of institutional support. Create a visible and simple network for support of refugee students RESULTS IO 1 publication “Accessing Higher Education in Europe: Challenges for Refugee Students & Strategies to Overcome Them” is already freely available. This IO identified 9 critical challenges, which refugee students face: Transition into Adulthood, Shifting Support Structures, Information Barriers, Non-recognition of “foreign” Education, Linguistic Barriers, Financial Barriers, Lack of Administrative Harmonization, Intercultural Gap, Social Discrimination. Additionally, it presents best practice examples from preparatory programs across Europe and provides universities with a “Roadmap for Improvement” in order to critically evaluate their own programs.
