The Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon fosters and nurtures future thought leaders capable of delivering value in dynamic global business landscape. Student ExchangeMDI Gurgaon boasts of one of the most distinguished student exchange programmes in the country. It has forged strategic partnerships with more than

80 international institutes and it is this extensive network which provides the students from the institute an excellent opportunity to complement their understanding of the Indian business scenario with cross-cultural management skills. Accreditation

MDI was the first Indian B-School and the second in Asia to be accredited by an international institution– Association of MBA’s (AMBA), London. In 2011, MDI became the only Indian B-School to have all its courses accredited by AMBA. In addition to this, MDI has also been granted the coveted South Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS) accreditation and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, India.

Academic Partnerships

MDI offers a host of programmes launched in association with its esteemed partner institutes. National Management ProgrammeNational Management Programme (EPGPM) was the first full time residential programme of Management of Development Institute, which launched in 1987 and is currently in its 29th edition. This programme is a 12+3* months full-time post graduate programme with the key objectives of providing:

• A holistic perspective of current business realities

• An ability to recognize and seize opportunities in a competitive environment

• An assurance of commitment towards betterment of the society

• A mindset towards global sensitivity

The programme is recognized by AICTE and is accredited by AMBA, the Association of MBAs (UK). It focuses on developing leaders who excel in the rapidly changing business environment, become agents of change and are charged with a customer centric orientation. The programme offers blend of General Management courses with options of specialization in Finance, Marketing, Strategy, Operation, Information Technology, Human Resources and Economics.

All the candidates applying for the NMP (EPGPM) programme should possess minimum 5+ years of industry experience in addition to that selection is based on their performance in GMAT/CAT followed by a personal Interview. On successful completion of the programme, the participants are awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM).

Energy Management ProgrammeEnergy Management is a unique offering from MDI. It is an exclusive industry-focused programme which addresses the dire need for highly skilled business professionals to overcome management challenges in the Energy Sector. In 2011 it became the only programme in the Energy sector accredited by the AMBA.

Energy is possibly the most critical input to rapid economic growth and development of an economy. The accelerated growth unleashed since the 1990s and early 2000s has led to major initiatives which are structurally changing the policy environment. Energy sector in India is passing through critical times. India’s growth aspiration would be severely affected due to constraints in energy supply. Keeping in mind the bourgeoning demand-supply gap in an energy starved nation like India, which is further distorted by wasteful management practices, there is an immense investment scope in energy infrastructure and energy management in an environmental friendly manner. To address these issues, MDI launched an exclusive programme in 2005 for training professional in the Energy sector with the help of US AID and the Ministry of Power. Over the years its domain has been broadened from power to other spheres of energy namely oil & gas, coal, carbon market, energy efficiency etc. Through this programme we also aspire to meet our social responsibilities.

The Corporate Relations Team is the industry and media interface for Executive PGPM batch of MDI Gurgaon. The team’s primary objective is to foster a positive image, to connect with the industry and to develop and integrate media relation strategies into an overall brand building process.

As part of our endeavour for continuous learning, the Corporate Relations Team creates, develops and co-ordinates events - educational, cultural and co-curricular in the form of guest lectures, activities, fests and sporting events. One of such events is the leadership connect. The Leadership Connect Series wherein industry stalwarts and leaders of different verticals share their vast experience and knowledge. The industry leaders are given an insight into the Executive PGPM batch and the legacy that it carries.

The team works towards brand awareness, equity and enhancement by direct interaction. The team also looks into providing opportunities to students to work on live projects offered by corporate and industry.
