And learns to Surf and SUP in the same Weekend. And learns to Ice a Cake.

Scruffie likes Adventures. He Knows that the key is a great BASELINE - Get the Basics right - This is like Baking a CAKE! You get the CAKE BASE right first - Determine the best ingredients, define the method (run book) and Practice till it works. Then you get to add the extras - the icing. If you are really lucky you get to add even more extras - The Cherries. (or candles) _If you try to get it all right at once it gets complex and difficult. This is called Segmentation and Prioritisation..... So Scruffie is Lucky that he works with TONY; Tony has spent years getting the Cake Right. Tony's Surf Camp runs well and is well organised and practised. This allows Tony to provide a platform for Others to implement their ideas as well. And Scruffie has many, many adventure ideas. So many. So , so , so many ideas *(Ed. Sighh!! 2 large whiteboards) So when Tony asked Scruffie to help with Extra's Scruffie was over the moon. He would design Beach games, a Midnight walk down the beach and SUP training session with awesome adventure into the Wetlands to hunt Icing Crocodiles, and Cherry Pythons.

Sign in and Check in medicine. Scruffie uses his branding to help others, In this camp Scruffie decided to Design a MEDICINE box for YOUTH MEDICINE and Medical forms. Care monkey Has helped a Lot but Scruffie needs the Parents to double check the Photos, allergies and Treament plans.

Saturday morning parade. Scruffie Helps Tony to Brief everyobody on the "RUNBOOK" - The core activities and timings so everyone can be on the same page.

Scruffie knows that everyone will be good on the bus becasue its his leadership team at the front. He checks in just in case and does a a H&S check for leader Steve.

Scruffie helps Tony park the HUGE bus, Tony found us a cool campsite under the Branches of the Trees - Awesome

Step one is to make the trailers secure and get the Tents Unpacked and get that out the way so that Adventures have somewhere to drop exhausted later in the day.

Scruffie is an Expert at Putting up Tents. But Like all good leaders he steps back and HELPS or guides and encourages, he doesent jump in and do it for the scouts - He has focus and Discipline.



Scruffie Inspects all the Bags. He has seen a real improvment on Scouts packing for Adventure - 1 Bag Per Scout with everything in it - and One Day pack. No Pillows and Items hanging about the edges or dangling ready to get broken or damaged or dirty, Good Job Scouts.

Accidents and errors occur, we havent had an incident in ages, but the well oiled and maintained machine goes into action , Off to hospital for Aaron, leaders secure the forms and off they go. Scruffie is proud of Aaron for dealing with this very maturely and thanks his parents for their support - Well done everybody.- Its great having the support we need.

Meanwhile back at base the cockatoo mans the camp. The rest of the activvities continue as Tony the boss adjusts the leader roster and all activities move forward. He leaves The Cockatoo in place as Natures Birdglar alarm. (Find him on Twitter)

GROUP 2 heads to the beach and Games commence. Michael throws .......

And the team catches - Anglsea Antbears .....A new Foooty team.....



GROUP 1 heads of into the Wetlands - Hunting for Crocodiles...Its easy with the wind behind you......

Entering the Heart of Darkness......... Scruffie teaches a Method so that Scouts have good

technique.

Some Use it and Move forward,..... Others jam up the river and drift...

But eventually all techniques of all types and and then they move forward.......



Meanwhille on the beach, Games persist..... Awesome footy Skills = Group 2........

But Then they must pack and head of to swap with Group 1............. group 2 get ready for paddling

Scruffie Knows that best way to supervise is from behind. You need to be able to See whats going on. But .. You also need someone in the middle and front - You cant all bunch at the back.- Else everything gets strung out.....

Into the Great Congo Delta the intrepid explorers go... Beware the Pythons hanging from the branches...

Stopping intermittently to make sure the group is Together



Many Obstacles make the adveture fun .... Ready ....

behaviour so we can stop at the Pirate Park.

Scruffie is lucky to have so many Friends. *(Ed. Although he does work hard at making and keeping friends.) He wasnt always this Popular. He is lucky he joined Australias Largest and best

TEA TIME..... This is what happens when Scruffie doesnt use formations or parades...fortunetly there was enough for everyone as Scruffie was "Prepared"

Scruffie Loves Pirate ships - This one has run aground and been over-run. Still he will add it to his list of Conquests

Others Chill and Hang out, acting cool etc (Ed. Not my excellent teen slang, I refute scruffies view that I am not "down with the Kids")

Showers after a long day- Quickly..... Lets get it done... Whiles others sneak in some quiet time. Self maintenance

is common Sense. Good On yer mate -



All Fall in for the evening briefing .. Soon Tony will return with all the PIZZA’s

And when they do a Silence falls across the camp, just the grinding of teach on dough and cheese.

And then a great dessert - very very choclatey and fortunatley someone shares with Scruffie. Hmmm.... Delicious.

And then off for a beach Adventure as we walk down the beach as the sun sets............

DAY 2 - SUNDAY - A new Day dawns for everyone and Surfing Beckons

Brekkie & Suncream- Make sure that you put Butter on your Bread and Sunscreen on your face, Dont muddle that up.

Then there is a walk to the beach. After the ‘war paint’ time for Surf lesson briefing....... Anyone for ZINC ?



The team Lines up with the Instructor . It All Starts with a Briefing - Each person needs a Wetsuit and line up to be issued and put on ......

Then on to the beach - What a great location!

Next everyone make a Surfboard Petal . No one knows why, But you have to do this!

See - Everyone is doing it! And you know how important it is to do what everyone else does ! (Ed. Scruffie less Sarcasm, not everyone gets it and they may miss your message of Self reliance and autonomousness)

Each person gets a Board and heads to the beach to learn to Surf and cover any Safety Issues.

Scruffie helps by asking questions in case some one is nervous and wont ask. He is good like that ! (ED. Its NOT because he forgets.)

And then its into the waves, with high Enthusiasm Some are less enthusiastic



Conditions are great...... And Success.!

After a bit of corn flour treatment for Sunburn. Packing begins - Fold up the tents. - Dont unclip them The

frames areee EASY UP and EASY down and Hard to fold.

Scruffie inspects each tent to make sure that its clean before its packed and the next person is able to make good use of it. - Nice job Maya.

Lucas takes on the job of running the EMU bob - Always a challenging job, Scruffie observes as Lucas ensures we sweep the site and leave it good and clear. Good Job.

Scruffie observes as the Youth leaders run a "Scouts Own" to recognise and ackowledge and so appreciate what we have and why we have it. Thanks Tony. Thanks Leaders. Thanks Scruffie
