PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

“Cherish yesterday, dream tomorrow and live today.” Richard Bach

Welcome Back Welcome back! I hope all our families and staff had a relaxing break and are ready for another busy term. I would like to extend a warm welcome to the new families joining Valley View Public School this term. Term 4 is going to be a very exciting one with lots of opportunities to showcase our talented students. Exciting events at Valley View Public School include View Start, Swimming School, Year 6 Farewell and Graduation Day, Presentation Day and P&C Obstacool just to name a few. It is important for parents to keep an eye on what is coming up by reading the newsletter or information updated on the school’s app or Facebook page to keep on top of the happenings throughout the term. It is hard to believe that we are nearly a whole year on since our new Kindergarten arrived at the end of February. For our Year 6 students this is the last term of primary school and a delightful time as they prepare for high school in 2019. Kindergarten 2020 We are accepting enrolments for children starting Kindergarten in 2020. Please advise the office so that we can arrange enrolment forms. You will need to provide your child’s original birth certificate, statement of complete immunisation from Medicare and proof of current address. We will be meeting our 2019 Kindergarten students as they participate in their orientation program (View Start) in Week 2. 2020 School Planning ….. Are you moving out of the area? We have commenced our planning for the 2020 school year. With our need to establish a clear picture of student numbers for next year, we would appreciate knowing if your child/children will not be returning to Valley View Public School in 2020. This information is important for our class organisation and staffing for next year. I am asking that you let us know in writing if your child is not returning to Valley View Public School in 2020. Please send this information to the office. Sun Safety As we begin Term 4 and the summer months are approaching please ensure your child has a water bottle and a sun safe hat. Central Choral Festival Congratulations, to our children who will be performing in the Central Coast Choral festival next Tuesday. A very big thank you to Mrs Tomlinson and Mrs Pratt for your organisation and hard work.

Yours in Education Mary Hunt

Principal

THIS WEEK IN PBL- RESPECT At Valley View Public we are always respectful. We are respectful in the classroom, playground and in all areas of school. Discussion: What is respect? How we can be respectful at school? How can we be respectful at home?

DOES YOUR CHILD HAVE ASTHMA? If your child has asthma—please ensure the school has an updated asthma plan and asthma medication for your child. It is Department Policy that all plans are updated annually to ensure that the school is following the most up to date medical instructions for your child. The school will be contacting parents of students listed as having asthma before the end of the term, if our records show that plans or medication are out of date. If you know your child’s medication needs replacing, please bring new supplies to the front office.
