ABOUT THIS PORTFOLIO

I have chosen to organize my portfolio by the significant places in which I have

studied, lived, traveled, and created. This format organizes my work and

experiences by landscape, which deeply influences my work. These places

delineate the chronological order of my academic and visual art work.

My art, academic, and professional work all explores place and time. While the

mediums vary, landscapes, whether physical or metaphysical, connect my

work. I am interested in how the visual experience of landscape affects

memory and emotion, creating a sense of place. Recording and mapping

these landscapes, allows me to better understand my place in the world. I

am interested in creating landscapes that simultaneously inspire and

embody live art: experience. I believe that through experience, people build

meaningful connections with one another and their environments.

BIOGRAPHY

I am from a small village in Haryana state of India. After completing my schooleducation I went to Government Polytechnic Sirsa, India to pursue Diploma inCivil Engineering. It was my first introduction with engineering as well asoutside world. In 2009, after completing my diploma I went for bachelordegree in civil engineering from Lingaya’s Institute of Management AndTechnology , Faridabd India. During the period of my graduation I came toknow about Landscape architecture. To that very moment I decided that yes!this is what I am looking for. Landscape architecture is the art of designing theoutdoor public areas, landmarks and structures to achieve environmental,social-behavioral, or aesthetic outcomes. For me Landscape architecture is aplace where engineering meets the environment.

I returned to my home town in 2012 and worked as a lecturer in Apex Polytechnicfor a year. After that I moved to Chandigarh to plan my master degree andtook IELTS. Same time I continued to gain professional experience as I joinedSPEC as an assistant professor in Civil Engineering department.

In October 2014 I came to Germany to pursue master degree in LandscapeArchitecture from Hochschule Anhalt, Bernburg.

GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC SIRSA, INDIA2006-2009

From July 2006 to June 2009 I

successfully completed my three year

diploma in civil engineering. I was

interested in Surveying, Building

Construction and Concrete

technology.

LIMAT FARIDABAD , INDIA2009-2012

During my graduation in Civil Engineering

I explored the link in civil engineering and

environment science. I was leader of my

team in survey camp. I learned a lot by

visiting different cities and project sites in

India. During study period I also presented

seminar on green building etc.

APEX INSTITUTE OF POLYTECHMIC, INDIA2012-2013

I worked as a lecturer and in charge of civil engineering department., I got a

chance to design (unofficial design) the garden area in front of college. This was

my first working experience in landscape architecture.

HOCHSCHULE ANHALT BERNBURG, DE2014-PERSENT

I joined Anhalt university of Applied Sciences in October 2014 to pursue my master

degree in Landscape architecture. I take this opportunity enhance my skills in field of

landscape architecture by means of theoretical understanding and practical work

experience.

Interests and Achievements

I like to perform on stage. During my studies in various Colleges and schools I participated in many cultural activities. I like to write and I have written poems, stories, and scripts for theatres and radio programs. During my job as a lecturer I was in charge of extra circular activities and organised many successful fests.

In my college with Indian TV star Karan Wahi

I participated in State level mission of educating people on social issues through the stage. Our team one many prizes. I love to work for social cause whenever i can.

Elected Chief Secretary Of Youth club In 2013. In 2014 Honoured by Sub division Officer for Excellence in Education.

I have a wide interest in photography and arts, something that i think can use in landscape architecture. I love touring, going to new places and meeting new people. Here are some of my photographs that are clicked by just an ordinary mobile camera.
