Swanswell can help if you’re receiving NHS treatment for HIV or TB, or are worried you may have HIV or TB.

Our service, which is commissioned by Birmingham City Council, can help you access the right services so you can:

• maintain your health by getting the right medical treatment through the NHS and other support services

• stay in your home or maintain temporary accommodation

• stay in your job or work towards employment• reduce the risk of transmission • achieve and maintain independent living We provide these services as part of the national supporting people programme.

Swanswell support Swanswell can help you take control of your life with practical support such as:

• helping you develop the necessary skills to self-manage aspects of your life to gain independence

• treatment advice and options, information, guidance and signposting to other specialist services

• access to information on housing, benefits and homelessness support

• employment, education, skills development and training support

• access to peer support, service user groups and volunteering

• support for mental, sexual and physical heath

• family support including help for children and young people diagnosed with HIV

• helping you access a ‘safe space’ group session

Getting started Please contact us if you:

• live in Birmingham and are worried you may have HIV or TB

• live in Birmingham and are receiving NHS treatment for HIV or TB

• live outside Birmingham but are receiving NHS treatment for HIV or TB in Birmingham

Where to find us Our office is in Birmingham and our staff work with you in your home or at a community organisation near to where you live. We’re available Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm and can also offer weekend or evening appointments. We also have group sessions and peer mentor support available. Just contact us to find out more.

Confidentiality Swanswell respects your right to privacy. When you have your first meeting with a Swanswell worker, they will explain to you how we keep things confidential.
