Swimming Pool Supplies for Safety Explored

When most pool owners owners consider pool safety what comes to mind is the 'pool rules' sign. Most have one. The common sign on a board that can be picked up either online or at a local pool supplies store that generally lists about 10 common safety rules. They hope that people follow them, they keep their fingers crossed, and that's about it.

But what about taking actual preventative action by purchasing and using swimming pool supplies that will actually work to make your guests and your family safer? A lot of people are doing just that now, and the following is a list of some of the things that they're purchasing to keep people from getting hurt.

Shatterproof Plastic Drink Containers

Bringing standard glass containers to the pool area is just asking for trouble. All it takes is for someone to drop something made out of glass, and then people walking around barefoot will be ending up with cut feet. It's even worse if some of the shards make it into the pool because they're difficult to find until it's too late. So pick up some plastic drinking containers to have at the ready to avoid this type of problem.

Floating Water Motion Detector

The floating water motion detector comes from the line of new high-tech, feature laden safety components that are designed to keep kids out of your pool when you can't be there to do it yourself. It's operation is simple. It floats on top of the pools water and sounds the alarm if a child should enter your pool when you aren't there. Some can even notify you by e-mail or cell phone that someone has entered your pool.

Sun Block Contact Lenses

Having a bottle of sunblock lotion on hand just makes common sense and everybody already knows about that. What you may not know though, is that newer products have been developed to add further layers of protection from the sun's harmful UVA and UVB raise. One of these products is nonprescription sunblock and contact lenses that can be purchased over-the-counter to provide eye protection in and out of the water.

Puncture Proof Pool Floats

If you have kids in your home then of course you'll need some pool floats around be used when they're in the pool, but there's a problem there. That problem is that standard pool floats tend to go flat, so it's difficult to keep them functioning and on on hand at all times. There is a new solution though, and it comes in the form of foam filled puncture proof floats that never go flat and never get waterlogged.

What About Pool Safety for Pets?

The problem with swimming pools and pet safety is that above ground pools in particular are designed only for humans to get out of. If a dog or a cat should fall in they just don't know how to use the latter, and in too many cases end up drowning. That problem to has been solved, and the solution comes in the form of a ramp that sits on the side of the pool when you aren't there to work as an emergency
