Our engineers develop products that work more
and more efficiently, and thereby consume less
and less energy. The over 200 employees of the

CTA Heat Pumps
CTA has a wide range of products to offer: For
new buildings as well as renovated ones, for sin-
gle-family homes and apartment blocks as well
as large plants, from the standard solution right
up to the exclusive system customised to meet
individual customer demands. We spare no effort

Functioning of a heat pump
A coolant, which is fluid or gaseous, depending
on the temperature and pressure conditions, is
circulated in the heat pump circuit. When the tem-
perature is low, the heat source brings the fluid
coolant in the evaporator to a boil 01 . The arising
coolant steam is compressed in the compressor
02 . During this process, the temperature rises to
a great extent and the heat can now be trans-
ferred in the condenser to the heating water 03 .
The coolant is again transferred to the liquid state.
In the expansion valve, the coolant is expanded
to the lower outlet pressure 04 and the cycle can
start from the beginning.

From the single-family home and the apartment
block to industrial buildings: The CTA series
Optiheat and Optipro can heat up buildings of
the most varied types. These heat pumps are
designed, manufactured and constantly devel-
oped further in Switzerland.
Geothermal heat pumps use the environmental heat from the soil (brine) or from the water, and raise the available heat to a higher tem-perature level for heating.

With this approach, heat can be obtained from
groundwater, sea water, river water or waste
water. An extraction well and a non-return well
must be drilled until below the groundwater level.
Brine / Water
This heat pump system uses the natural heat
in the soil. The geothermal probe consists of a
u-shaped pipe filled with brine, which is lowered
deep into the ground.

The latest unit in the Optiheat series: Thanks to the inverter technol-ogy, the heat pump heats in line with needs and in an energy-efficient manner. It allows independent heat generation for individual comfort requirements in single-family homes and apartment blocks.

Use in single-family homes
Every house is unique, and so is the heat out-
put required. The Optiheat Inverta TWW can be
designed to suit your exact needs and your envi-
ronment. You thus save not only electricity, but
also investment costs: For the geothermal probe,
drilling is carried out only as deep as required and
the insertion by your installation engineer is car-
ried out easily and quickly thanks to the All-in-One
concept.
Use in apartment blocks
One heat pump system, many comfortable tem-
peratures: The Optiheat Inverta TWW makes
it possible to set your own room temperature
independent of other tenants – and in such a
way that only as many resources as needed are
used. Long wait for hot water is passé, as there
is no heat loss in the distribution due to the cold
network.

SCOP in brief
The coefficient of performance (COP) indicates the effi-
ciency factor of heat pumps at a specific operating point.
The higher this figure, the higher is the efficiency of the
heat pump. The SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Perfor-
mance) assesses this coefficient of performance over the
entire year and shows a comprehensive image about the
energy efficiency.

Optiheat All-in-One
With the Optiheat All-in-One, all components are
pre-installed and aligned with each other. This
saves planning, installation and investment costs
and offers a high reliability of operation at maxi-
mum possible convenience and comfort. The
heat pump is exceptionally suitable for heating
domestic hot water. The volume of energy gene-
rated annually can be determined with the integ-
rated flow meter.

Optiheat Duo HT
This new high temperature heat pump is extre-
mely silent in operation and compactly designed
to pass through all kinds of doors. It has two
separate cooling cycles which ensures extremely
high operating safety. The flow temperature of up
to 65 °C can be optimally used for domestic hot
water preparation. The unit is operated from the
front. All electrical and hydraulic connections are
on the back.

Optipro
The Optipro heat pump is used in large buildings
and captivates with its technical performance and
compact design. The unit easily fits through a nor-
mal door of 80 cm in width and 200 cm in height
so that it does not require additional expensive
support. The Optipro pump also consumes less
space when interconnected with other pumps
and is extremely service-friendly: The unit is ope-
rated from the front, the connections are at the
back and the electrical supply lines are guided

Our heat pump series Aeroheat has a stainless
steel casing for outdoor as well as indoor instal-
lations, reflects the surrounding colours and fits in
well in the surroundings. The intake and exhaust of
ambient air is extremely silent thanks to the special

All units are installed indoors. Two air duct con-
nections are required for the intake and exhaust
of the ambient air.
Outdoor
The unit installed outdoors is connected to a small
control unit inside the building via a line duct. That
helps in preventing cramped spaces inside buil-

Inverter technology
With the inverter technology, the performance of
the heat pump continuously matches the heat
requirement. The compressor runs to its maxi-
mum capacity only on a few days in a year, the
switch cycles are reduced, thereby increasing the
life cycle of the compressor. The building is thus
uniformly heated in an energy-efficient manner
and electricity costs are saved.
Flow temperature
Older heating plants with radiators often require
high flow temperatures. Even with domestic hot
water, high temperatures are often required. With
the Aeroheat inverter heat pump, high tempera-
ture can be generated in an economically practi-
cal manner. Benefits: The less the flow tempera-
ture, the higher the efficiency of the heat pump.

up to +70 °C, it is used where a high water tempe-
