    Objectives of Swiss tourism policy

To increase the countrys competitiveness as adestination.

The foundations of Swiss tourism policy are to befound in the Conception suisse du tourisme, areportdating from 1979, but which is still relevant. It hasserved as the basis of tourism policy for two decades.

Switzerlands new tourism policy was outlined in theRapport sur la politique du tourisme delaConfdration, which was submitted to the FederalChambers on 29 May 1996.
