SHUTTERSMAKE IT GRANDOur shutters are designed and manufactured to be durable and sustainable, wherever you use them. Choose from a range of materials, in painted and stained finishes that will complement your colour palette and décor. Indeed, if you use a paint from a major supplier like Dulux, we can even match your shutters to it.

You can also choose your open-close mechanism: either the traditional plantation-style tilt rods (with either centre or offset tilt rods) or the newer ‘easy tilt’ concealed mechanism.

Our standard shutter blades are available in flat and elliptical profiles, and in widths of 47mm, 63mm, 89mm and 114mm. They’re constructed with hand-selected quarter-sawn timbers, reinforced engineered stiles, prescription wood conditioning, mortise and tenon joinery, and multi-step hand finishing. All of these features combine to improve the long-term performance and appearance of our shutters.

Along with plantation-grown timbers, such as Chinese Oak and White Teak, we also offer other shutter materials, including Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) and ABS Plastic.

DYNAMIC IMPACT TEST: AS5039-2008The test is performed with a sand and lead filled bag and weighing around 40kg. At impact the bag imparts 100 joules of energy to the panel being tested. The test is repeated 5 times, simulating repeated kicking as the burglar attempts to break into your home.

LOCK AND HINGE LEVER TEST: AS5039-2008

The effects of a jemmy attack against a security screen door or window grille are simulated by allowing a standardised narrow-bladed lever (representing a large screw driver) to be inserted against the locking, fastening and hinging points and a turning force (torque) is applied to those points via the lever.

KNIFE SHEAR TEST: AS5039-2008

This Australian Standard test simulates a knife attack on INVISI-GARD as a burglar tries to cut through the screen. The test aims to recreate the effect of someone attacking your doors with a Stanley knife or similar. INVISI-GARD is able to pass this test thanks to the strength of the 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel Mesh.

CYCLONE RATED: AS1170.2-2011One of the toughest tests of strength for a security system is the Cyclonic Missile Impact Test in accordance with Australian Standards AS1170-1989. In this test a 4 kilogram piece of hardwood is aimed at the centre of the security screen and then launched reaching a speed of 15 metres per second or 54 kilometres per hour at the time of impact.
