    (5) General Studies Paper - IIIOBJECTIVE TYPE : 200 Marks

    A. The role and impact of scienceand technology in thedevelopment of India. : 76 MarksIn the part relating to the role and impact of scienceand technology in the development of India, questionswill be asked to test the candidates awareness of therole and impact of science and technology in India,emphasis will be on applied aspects. It will also includegeneral knowledge relating to science, inventions anddiscoveries, terminologies, etc.

    B. History, Cultural Heritage andTraditional Practices and GeneralKnowledge about Mizoram : 74 MarksHistory, Cultural Heritage and Traditional Practices andGeneral Knowledge about Mizoram will include broadhistory of Mizoram including pre and post advent ofthe British, Colonial Era, the Lushai Chiefs, Politicalupheavals, famines, socio-economic and political eventsafter independence. Cultural and traditional practices,customary laws and practices including folk lore andsongs, dances and festivals. General Knowledge will

    include objective questions about Mizoram.C. Aptitude Test : 50 Marks

    (a) Numerical And Figurework Tests: (16 Marks)These tests are reflections of fluency with numbers

    and calculations. It shows how easily a personcan think with numbers. The subject will be givena series of numbers. His/Her task is to see howthe numbers go together to form a relationshipwith each other. He/She has to choose a numberwhich would go next in the series.

    (b) Verbal Analysis And Vocabulary Tests: (14 Marks)These tests measure the degree of comfort and

    fluency with the English language. These testswill measure how a person will reason withwords. The subject will be given questions withalternative answers, that will reflect his/hercommand of the rule and use of English language.

    (c) Visual And Spatial/3-D Ability Tests: (10 Marks)These tests are used to measure perceptualspeed and acuity. The subject will be shownpictures where he/she is asked to identify theodd one out; or which comes next in thesequence or explores how easily he/she can seeand turn around objects in space.

    (d) Abstract Reasoning Tests: (10 Marks)This test measures the ability to analyse information

    and solve problems on a complex, thought basedlevel. It measures a persons ability to quicklyidentify patterns, logical rules and trends in newdata, integrate this information, and apply it to
