M.A. PHILOSOPHY UNDER CBCS
There has been a constant endevour to inlpl'ove the higher education in India by implementing
different prograrnmes flom time to time. The purpose behind it is to meet the global standard by
inhancing the academic standard and quality in highe| education including innovation and improvements
in curriculum, teach ing-learn ing process, examination and evaluation system, besides governance and
other rnatters.
Keeping in view ofthe above, the UGC has devised a Uniforrn Choice Based Credid system in
lndia with flexibility to choose the different courses ofchoice by tlre students. The rnobility is the biggest
asset of this CBCS. The r"Iniform grading system in senesters system of examination by a adopting the
method of curr.rulative gr-ade point average (CCPA) based on the performance of students in the
exarninatiolr system, is the centr al point of CBCS.
VISION
Over tlre years Philosophy has been central to the growth and development of world as such.
Philosophy indeed lias been the training ground in an everlasting pursuit of knowledge and excellence

urderstanding ofthe intricacies of universe is the subliniing and inherent strength of Philosophy which
tries to understand the universe in its totality.
'Education is not the learning of facts. but the training ofthe mind to think'. This insightful quote
by Albet Einstein, encapsulates both why if is that we need Philosophy and what exactly should
