The first ever Syracuse Bacon Festival started in Downtown Syracuse in 2017 and has become
one of the must-attend BACON event for bacon lovers across Central New York.
The Syracuse Bacon Festival is...

• An bacon lover dream, where each event attendee will have plenty of unique bacon creations to
purchase all in one place.
• A community event for attendees to enjoy BACON treats, live music, Beer. Wine slushie and no
admission fee.
Vendor Requirements:
• Must hold appropriate insurance, licenses and permits.
• Food vendors must have at least 1 Bacon item at the event
• Please call your insurance agent and have them create a Certificate of Liability Insurance form listing Galaxy Events LLC, 235 Walton St, Syracuse, NY 13202 &City of Syracuse, 412 Spencer Street, Syracuse, NY 13204 as Additionally Insured
• All vendors must have a Onondaga County Department of Health permit. Please call 315-435-6607 for information.

Set-up time and check-in
Friday: Vendors ‘Set up” will occur on Friday August 16 th from
1:30pm to 6pm NO SOONER OR LATER. Erie Blvd West and
Clinton Street will be closed to the traffic starting at 1pm.
Please do not come to the site prior to 1:30 on Friday and
expect your equipment to be promptly hooked up.
DO NOT BRING ANY FOOD WITH YOU ON FRIDAY!
Electricity will not be turned on until Saturday Morning.
Security will be on site overnight on Friday and all day
Saturday.
Saturday: You may start setting up Saturday August 17 th at
7am and all vehicles must be off site by 11:00am
Bacon Festival conclude at 9pm and at that time vendors MAY
begin to clean up and break down
Power is turned off Saturday night after the event.
Application procedure
• Read all instructions and fill in the application form
• Submit application form by email or mail with payment.
• Applications are considered on a first-come, first-served
basis. The Syracuse Bacon Fest reserves the right to make
the final decision on the acceptance of an application based
on past performance, timeliness of returned application,
variety of vendors and accordance with the festival’s mission.

We will supply each vendor with 1 parking pass in City Lot 21 (Chase
Building) on S Clinton Street but this DOES NOT GARUNTEED YOU A
SPOT. Limited parking first come first serve basis. See page 8

• All food & Beverage vendors are require to send Galaxy Events a copy of your Liability insurance. On this form you must list as additional insured:

Health Department Requirements Pertaining to Food Service
• Individual health department permits must be secured by each individual food vendor. Please contact the Onondaga County Health Department for details.
• Bags of ICE will be available for purchase on site.
Cooking Appliances
• Cooking appliances that would be used at home such as
residential stoves, ovens, crock pots and skillets are not
allowed.

Grease Disposal/Grease Mats
Galaxy Events provides access to a grease disposal unit to discard
your used grease and cooking water following the event. The
location will be indicated on the map with your booth location which
will be sent to you closer to the event date.
DO NOT dispose of grease down storm drains, on the sidewalk, or
any other place other than disposal units.
All vendors who are cooking must have grease mats or some other
materials covering their space to prevent grease from staining the
sidewalk.
PLEASE NOTE: If excessive grease has spilled on the ground within
your area and is noticed after the festival closing you will be charged
a clean-up fee of $250 by the City of Syracuse.
Lighting
• Participants are responsible for their own task/working lighting
within their tent/space.
• Due to the extreme heat generated by halogen lights and the
potential flammability of gas lanterns, neither is permitted as a
lighting source. All lighting must be outdoor lighting. If you
have any questions please contact the City of Syracuse

Propane Permit
• Anyone cooking with propane will be required to file for a
propane permit with the City of Syracuse Fire Department.
You can find this permit on page 10 of this registration packet.
Recycling
• Be advised that all vendors are required to recycle at Clinton
Square. Boxes, cans and plastic are to be separated and
placed in the back right hand corner of your booth. An official
cleaning crew will periodically remove these recyclables from
your site. All Onondaga County recycling rules apply at
Clinton Square. Please plan ahead, bring additional plastic
bags.
Restroom Facilities
• Porta Johns are located on Erie Blvd West.
Security
• Although overnight security will be provided for the evening of
August 16. It is the vendors’ responsibility to secure their
possessions. We strongly recommend you remove any
valuable items when you leave at night such as laptops,
phones, ipads, etc….
• Galaxy Events assumes no responsibility for lost or
stolen property. Trash
• All vendors must supply their own garbage cans and garbage
bags (maximum weigh 40lb).
Utilities
• A Utilities Request Form is on page 7 of this registration
packet. If you need power you are to fill this out this form
ASAP and send back. No Form = No Power.
Water
• Water will be made available to food vendors via a nearby fire
hydrant. The City will supply a certain amount of hose, but
vendors need food-grade hose must supply their own to reach
individual tents.

Guidelines for Temporary Food Service

Please be aware that the Onondaga County Health Department WILL inspect your food preparation area on Saturday!
Food Protection:
Food, water, and ice must be from an approved source. No home-prepared potentially hazardous foods will be permitted. When fresh clams are purchased, shipping tags must be kept on the bag during use and retained for 90 days thereafter.Menus should be limited to the available facilities and planned to avoid leftovers or waste. Hazardous items such as creamed sauces, custards and filled pastries should be avoided.Perishable foods shall be stored below 45F or kept at above 140F. The time between preparation and serving shall be as short as possible. Thermometers must be on hand to assure proper temperatures.Foods are to be protected from dust, flies and handling by customers. This can be accomplished by use of dome lids/foil or plastic wrap.Foods, preparation and service utensils and single service articles are to be stored off the floor and protected from contamination.If you bring a refrigerator, be sure it is COLD to start with; it takes a long time to get them down to the proper temperature.
Personnel:
All Food-service workers are to be free from illness, boils, sores and cuts.Disposable plastic gloves or suitable utensils are to be used when handling foods.They must be properly dressed, clean uniforms or aprons, and both male and female must have hair restrained with a hat, visor, or hair net at all times.They shall not smoke or eat while working in the preparation or serving area.No employee shall resume work after visiting the toilet room without first washing their hands.
Facilities:
Facilities for hand washing are to be available (clean, running water, soap and paper towels).Hand washing stand is to be located convenient to adequate toilet facilities.Vendors are responsible for washing and sanitizing equipment, eating and cooking utensils. Cold water will be available for those who need it.Single-service eating and drinking utensils are to be provided.Adequate refrigeration is to be provided.Garbage is to be stored in plastic bags and not allowed to accumulate. Event management on an hourly basis will empty each garbage can.
