First, we want to congratulate all our children who received first Holy communion and confirmation on May 13th. We are blessed with all our kids, especially those who have received communion and confirmation. It was a special day for our parish and family. The entire parish celebrated this special day as our 14 angels became more close to Jesus in their faith. It was a blessing that our former Vicar Johnykutty achan was there as our main celebrant. The Vicar and parish community of St Albert the Great were generous enough to allow us to use their church for the celebrations of the day. Teachers and parents need special appreciation for their efforts to prepare the kids for communion and confirmation. We celebrated Ascension of Jesus on May 28th and Pentecost on June 4th. Both celebrations brought the church
a lot of blessings.
June is a special month for our parish. The long awaited altar renovation is almost complete and we are preparing for the consecration of the new altar. The date is set for June 24th and the preparations for the big celebration is underway. Mar Jacob Angadiath, Mar Joy Alapaatt, and our previous vicars will be with us during the June 24th weekend. We request everyone’s presence and prayer on this special day. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the altar renovation committee for their dedication and all parishioners
for your generous support and prayers.
Our parish Feast will take place next month on July 7th, 8th, and 9th. As you all know, the Parish feast is one of the more important celebrations in our parish. The parish Feast is
always a time of grace and blessings.
St Thomas our Patron saint, pray for us! May god bless us all!

Brothers and sisters, Congratulations!!! I am happy to join you to thank the Lord as we do our final preparations for the consecration of our renovated church. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Appreciations to Fr Johnykutty and all the members of the Altar Renovation Committee; your passion, dedication, and selfless efforts becomes a blessing to this family. Thank you! Our beloved bishop Mar Jacob will consecrate our new church on June 24th. The consecration will make this structure the abode of God, the house of prayer. We built the altar and the physical church; now we need to build the real church, that’s you and me. The beauty of our altar and church is an ‘external sign of our interior beauty.’ As we renewed our altar, made it beautiful, and consecrate it, we should take effort to renew our life, beautify our soul and consecrate our community. Pope Francis said in one of his addresses, “It is necessary that sacred buildings, starting with new parish churches, … (offer), an oasis of beauty, peace and acceptance, favoring an encounter with God and communion with our brothers and sisters, thus becoming a reference point for the integral growth of all the people, for the harmonious development and supportive communities.” Well, we made, for sure, our church ‘an oasis of beauty.’ Now we need to encounter God over there and foster communion (genuine relationship) among us, the parishioners. That’s more difficult a task which needs the attitudes of prayer, cooperation, gratitude, reconciliation and above all a thirst for holiness. Let us put our hearts together to renovate our lives, beautify our families and consecrate our parish. In Him everything is possible! May I invite you to reflect: What I could do to make our community an “OASIS OF BEAUTY”? God bless Vinod Achan

"In Love and unity… for the greater glory of God." Vicar’s Message
The Month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart. The Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the Friday following the second Sunday after Pentecost. In addition to the liturgical celebration, many devotional exercises are connected with the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Of all devotions, devotion to the Sacred Heart was, and remains, one of the most widespread and popular in the Church. Understood in the light of the Scriptures, the term "Sacred Heart of Jesus" denotes the entire mystery of Christ, the totality of his being, and his person considered in its most intimate essential: Son of God, uncreated wisdom; infinite charity, principal of the salvation and sanctification of mankind. The "Sacred Heart" is Christ, the Word Incarnate, Saviour, intrinsically containing, in the Spirit, an infinite divine-human love for the Father and for his brothers.
The feast of the Sacred Heart was approved for specified dioceses by Clement XIII in 1765, and extended to the whole Church by Pius IX in 1856. In 1889 Pope Leo XIII elevated it to the rank of first class, and through an encyclical letter in 1899 dedicated the whole Catholic world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Devotion to the Sacred Heart was also an essential component of Pope John Paul II's hopes for the "new evangelization" called for by the Church.
The Gospel of St. John recounts the showing of the Lord's hands and his side to the disciples (cf. John 20,20), and of his invitation to Thomas to put his hand into his side (cf. John 20, 27). This event has also had a notable influence on the origin and development of the Church's devotion to the Sacred Heart.

SMYL (SyroMalabar Youth League) BBQ on June 4th, 2017
The youth had a Beginning-of-Summer Barbeque on Sunday, June 4th. This barbeque was hosted in the church parking lot and there were approximately 50 youth members in attendance. This was an event primarily for the high school, college, and young adults to bond outside of the church, with food, games, and fun. We were excited to see everyone who came, and we are extremely grateful for all those who helped us out, in order to make this first summer event a success.

Youth Coordinators (YCs) Meeting with Achen & Trustees
The YC’s wanted to meet with Achen and the Trustees on Friday, June 2nd, to discuss different topics about our
church. We spoke about Achen’s three objectives for the YC’s to take on this year. The three focuses were to serve
the community, to develop the conviction that we all own the church, and finally, to grow in our personal faith.
Although these were only a few of the topics that were conversed, we have many events that are coming up for the
rest of the year. We ended the night with a delicious meal that was prepared by the YC’s, and of course, how could
we end the night without a selfie? Upcoming Event : Sunday, 6/25 Hiking Tr ip at Wissahickon
