Generic Port Behavior: Available via USRPROPS
Enhanced “Generic Port” Behavior
Part of foundation work for sysML but also can be used for custom frameworks via usrprops
Previously, SA supported “ports” in UML 2 – but it is hardcoded for UML only – not available generically
Values and Benefit:
•Support for Standards
•Support for custom Frameworks via
customizable metamodel

Generic Port Behavior: Available via USRPROPS
Generic Port is a node symbol type for which behavior has been specified to make it behave as a port attached to another node symbol – available for users to specify via USRPROPS.TXT

Generic Port Behavior: Available via USRPROPS
Requirement:
System Architect has had "box in box" representational consistency where an object that is semantically part of a container object is visually represented within the latter.
However, there are cases where the object should be represented and remain at the border of the container object instead

Generic Port Behavior: Available via USRPROPS
In sysML:
A Port is a part of a Block, visually represented at the border of the Block
A connection (line) between Blocks are done through their ports
Can be used with any definition – Business Service, Platform Service, etc

Generic Port Behavior: Available via USRPROPS
Proxy (Flow) Port The SysML Flow Property indicators are controlled by
The "Show Flow Indicator" symbol property along with the Display Mode data
You can show “Realized” & “Required” Interface Indicator symbols: Specify that your “Generic Port” definition defines
interfaces
Specify a "Show interface indicators" symbol property to show the indicators
Set the display mode data to present the "Realized Interfaces" and "Required Interfaces" properties
You can specify to visualize a ‘UML Behavior’ Port indicator: Specify the isBehavioral definition property
Specify the Show isBehavior indicator symbol property and the Display Mode data.
The complete circle indicates
there are realized interfaces,
the incomplete circle indicates
there are required interfaces
The behavior indicator is a rounded
rectangle connected to the port with a
line. This is always just a little wider
and a little narrower in height than the
minimum size of the port symbol

Generic Port Behavior: Available via USRPROPS
“Generic Port” Supports All Types of Ports:
Full Port
Proxy (Flow) Port (from sysML 1.6) Proxy ports define the boundary by specifying which features
of the owning block or internal parts are visible through external connectors
Flow Port – note – this has been Depricated in sysML 1.5 (and 1.6). Flow port is replaced by proxy port “typed by interface blocks owning flow properties
Nested Port Ports nest other ports in the same way that blocks nest other
blocks

New & Improved Enterprise Merge/Extract returns to SA
It is a more sophisticated version of Merge/Extract
Enables Workflow that
Enables users to manage how artifacts are shared between encyclopedias,
Manage where changes are made to shared architecture artifacts,
Define a clear structure for encyclopedias, and
Provide better visibility, granularity, and management of the merge/extract process
Values and Benefit:

Enterprise Merge/Extract
Enterprise Merge/Extract capability is intended to prevent the rather common problem, where the same artifact is edited in more than one encyclopedia – and then that information is to be merged again – resulting in the loss of work done in one or more encyclopedias, depending on how many encyclopedias are merged and the collision option selected
encyclopedias are constructed in a virtual hierarchy – where one encyclopedia is the master and all others are project or sub-project encyclopedias
Values and Benefit:
• Ability to Manage Architecture

Data Centricity – Usability Enhancement
Lines added to a diagram due to representationally consistent behavior can be set to hidden using a new Diagram property 'Hide new lines added by refresh'. This allows diagrams dedicated to a specific perspective, which show only a subset of existing relationships, to not be ‘polluted’ by auto appearance of new relationships
Lines that are shown as a result of using the Hide/Show Relationship Lines function can now be selected so that users can see where they are and can proceed to perform other operations on them
Values and Benefit:
• Usability

Web Dashboards: D3 Chart Enhancements
The D3 charts displayed in SAXT and SA Publisher originally set the color distinction by the ‘Value’ field. Depending on you report output, you may instead want the colors to change by the ‘Name’ field, so now you have the option to change it in the chart menu bar.
An example is you have a bar chart with a count of definition types: Applications=3, Services=5, Software=3.
Color by ‘Value’ would set Applications and Software the same color because they both equal 3. Color by ‘Name’ would have different colors for all because they all have different names.

U52-6655 SA-Definition Editor Upon dropping the System Event Timeline from the SV-10c pallet the "Symbol - System Event Timeline" dialogue box appears to change the name; and choose a System Entity; of the action buttons on the dialogue the, "Ok " allows acceptance of the symbol on the diagram (and the picked name from the Entity list) with no editing capability. SA Publisher Enhancements
SA Publisher charts utilizing D3.js and drill-down on selections
All SA Publisher chart visualizations have been rewritten in JavaScript using D3.js JavaScript library to give the charts a graphical refresh.
The redesign includes the ability for charts to be filtered down based on selected items. By selecting a subset of the results, you can click the Drill Down button and a new table and
chart will be shown containing only those selected items, and can be further drilled down based on your needs. This is useful when trying to visualize data that fits a specific combination of attributes.
SA Publisher Support for Compressed SVG
Support has been reintroduced for compressing the contents of the SVG files when generating SVG images (SVG files for complex diagrams can grow quite large)
Note: Compressed SVG was supported in the old SA Publisher output prior to the update to JavaScript/HTML 5 output in SA 11.4.5
Values and Benefit:
• More attractive and more informative
dashboards for SA Publisher output
• Faster rendering of SVG of diagram images

Matrix Designer Enhancements
In support of matrices formed using explicit relationship definitions as cell definitions:
There is now a means of choosing the direction of the relationship, from column to row or the reverse, where the cell definition could support either direction. Where only one direction is supported the direction is shown to the user but the direction cannot be changed.
A warning is now shown in the Cell tab when restrictions defined by CONNECTS property set clauses will not allow the chosen relationship.
The titles for the columns and rows can now be specified. If not specified the names of the chosen definition types are used.
Values and Benefit:
• Matrix designer allows users to easily create their
own matrices – important for viewing the
architecture and adding information to it.
• Matrices that have a definition in the intersecting
cell are called Explicit-join (or ‘text-in-cell’) matrices
