(Requires 64-bit OS and 64-bit SQL Server versions). Now supports Windows integrated authentication for SQL SysAdmin level users. New Role Security feature ensures all MediaServer database elements are at the recommended security level. New support for EXIF MakerNotes segment, which is now automatically extracted and inserted with each record into the MediaServer 8 database for enhanced metadata preview. Supports new library grouping facility, configurable within the MediaServer 8 Admin utility supports drag and drop of selected libraries into logical groups. This feature is particularly useful when the MediaServer 8 system is being shared by multiple sites, and where each site has been provided it’s own set of libraries. MediaServer 8 Reporting module now supports Project related activities. SCC Lucene Type 3 Search/Index Engine (New) Type 3 indexes in MediaServer 8 are now much smaller than the equivalent Type 2 indexes in the previous MediaServer version. 50% reductions in index size have been observed. Supports backup of Type 3 Lucene indexes in compressed Zip format. Lucene Boolean search operators AND, OR, NOT are now case insensitive. New Lucene Index Designer global character map facility allows control of exactly which characters are included or exempted from Lucene word indexing. Adds granular Lucene indexing support for Table Valued Attributes (TVA) new in MediaServer 8. Distributed “Multi-Node” operation. The Lucene Search and Indexing engine now supports installation across multiple nodes in a Windows Server Cluster allowing increased parallelism. In the case of a 4-node Cluster configuration, SQL Server would be installed and configured to run primarily on Node 1, SCC Lucene Engine installed and configured to run primarily on Node 2, SCC Web Access Module installed and configured
