At the bottom of Basic Profile Information under the Account tab, locate the Email Address section.
Click on the Actions down arrow and send the verification email.
Your Account page is where you edit account information. You are not required to change anything, but
it’s recommended that you update “Research” and “Causes and Skills” to help you locate opportunities
that match your interests.
Check your TCC email account for the verification email. Click the link provided to activate the account.
Now that your account has been activated, you have access to all Give Pulse functions. First, open
up your user menu to view your Dashboard and Profile options.
Dashboard—The hub for all your Give Pulse activities. Your
service hours, past and present volunteer opportunities, and
any groups you are a part of will show up on the Dashboard.
Profile—This is what other users see when viewing your page.
You can edit the information shown here under “Account.”
On the next page, we will take a look at the Dashboard and
Profile.

My Dashboard: Here you can see any Impacts (service hours) you have tracked, any opportunities you
have registered for, and any groups you have joined.
Right now, your Dashboard is set to Private and can only be viewed by you. If you choose to make your
profile Public, other users who click on your account will see your Profile (below). The Profile shows your
Dashboard information in a social media format.
If you want to make your profile public, go to your
Account tab and choose Settings. At Settings, uncheck
Private and make sure to save changes.
On GivePulse, “Impacts” is the term used for volunteer service hours since you are making an impact
on the community. Impacts will also be used to verify attendance at events.

My Activity
Next, we are going to review the “My Activity” drop down
menu. My Activity lets you look in detail at the groups
you’re a part of, the impacts you have submitted, and any
registered opportunities you have coming up.
The Group tab lets you view all groups you’re a part of. Here you can choose to leave any groups,
message the admin, and more.
The Impacts tab shows all volunteer opportunities you have submitted for verification. Here, you
will be able to view if hours are pending or have been verified.

HOW TO FIND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
On GivePulse, there are a few ways to locate available opportunities;
Get Involved: by selecting “Get Involved” on the taskbar, you will be directed to volunteer opportunities
in the area. You can view by Events (volunteer opportunities) or by Groups (organizations).
You can also view opportunities
by scrolling down to Affiliates
and Events on the TCC GivePulse
page.
Opportunities found here are
posted by organizations familiar
with TCC students.
When you select a Group or Event, you will be taken to their public page (below). On the public page
(example below) you can see more information about that opportunity or group. You can register
from the page or message the admin if you have any questions.

If you select “Register” from the event
page, you will be taken to the next steps
to register for the event.
Choose a group and then agree to the
platform terms.
You do not need to select a group, but
it’s recommended you select Tulsa
Achieves if you are in the program. This
will let organizations know you are a
Tulsa Achieves student as soon as you
sign up.
After registering, you will receive an email notification confirming your registration with the event. You
can either wait for contact from the administrator or message them on GivePulse with any questions
about how to proceed.
Adding Impacts (Verifying service hours)
In GivePulse, you will see the term “Impacts”. As a way to track students’ civic engagement practices,
GivePulse can track more than volunteer or service learning hours. You can also use it to track
donations, club or organization meeting attendance, or participation in rallies, deliberative dialogues,
and community-based research projects, just to name a few examples!
As a TCC Tulsa Achieves student, the only Impact you are required to track is volunteer service.
This counter is shown on many of your GivePulse pages.
Impacts (volunteer service hours) count the amount of
times you have submitted an impact.
Hours will show the amount of VERIFIED hours on your
account. Hours will only show up after they have been
verified by an organization.
On the next page, we will go into submitting your Impacts (volunteer service hours) for verification.

There are a few ways you can submit Impacts (volunteer service hours) for
verification. The easiest way is to select “Add Impact” from the user
dropdown menu.
Below is an example of the Add Impact screen. You will search your
Group (organization) that you volunteered with, and select Add Impact.
*If your organization is not on GivePulse, you can click on “Can’t find it?” to add your impact (below).
You will need to know the name of the organization, the name of the contact person, and their email.
GivePulse is still new to the Tulsa community; there will be many organizations who have not
joined us yet. If you come across an organization who has not joined, please have them contact
[email protected] so they can be added to our GivePulse community.

If you were able to locate your organization on the
“Add Impact” screen, select the blue Add Impact
button.
When adding an Impact, you will be asked to name
the event (opportunity), dates and amount of hours,
provide a reflection/feedback, and be able to share
with any groups or courses you are a part of.
If you volunteered with a specific event
of the group, select it here. Otherwise,
you can leave it empty.
Select dates you volunteered. You may
select a specific date, or a range of
dates.
Enter the total number of service hours
in the dates listed.
After entering your hours, you will
have the opportunity to leave feedback
for the event.
This is not required, however, leaving a
reflection may be used in service-
learning courses.
You can also leave a personal note
here that can only be viewed by you, or
attach any videos/photos from the
event.

Sharing and Privacy Settings let you share the Impact (volunteer service hours) with a group or course you
are a part of.
Service-Learning students will have their
courses shown here along with groups.
If completing service hours for a course, make
sure you check the course box to receive
credit. If you do not check the course box, your
instructor will not be notified.
You can choose “Public” or “Private” sharing. If
you choose Private, it will still be shared with
your course page and the instructor.
Select “Add Impact” when complete.
After submitting your Impact (volunteer
service hours) , you will see this screen. The
top left shows that the verification is pending.
When verified, it will be green.
You will also receive an email confirmation
when your hours have been verified.
Don’t forget, you can review all pending or verified impacts on your account by going to “Impacts”
located on your My Activity drop down menu (page 4).

GivePulse also lets students pull a co-
curricular transcript of all their activities.
You can do this by opening the user drop
down menu, and selecting “Summary.”
You can message the TCC
Volunteer Coordinator, Auggie
Valadez, on GivePulse if you
have any questions by going to
the TCC page and selecting the
contact icon.
GivePulse gives you the ability to message other users. Any messages
you receive or send will be shown here on the messages page. To get
here, select the mail icon on your task bar.
Below is an example of the co-curricular transcript.
For any questions, please feel free to contact TCC’s Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected].
