T-Shirt Design Contest Rules and Guidelines

Enter your design in the Old Sturbridge Village Redcoats and Rebels t-shirt contest. Help create a piece of history that will adorn the front and back of the official 2020 Old Sturbridge Village Redcoats and Rebels t-shirt, and available at next year’s event.

• Designs must be submitted before April 15, 2020. • All submissions must be original work created by the submitting designer and must meet

all legal requirements to reproduce and sell. • Entries will be judged by a selection committee comprised of graphic artists, representatives from the

re-enactment community and museum professionals. • Winning entry will be featured on the 2020 Redcoats and Rebels t-shirt and the winning designer will

receive a 1 year family membership to Old Sturbridge Village and a $150.00 Gift Card for use in the Village Shops or towards tickets to premium events (subject to availability).

T-Shirt Design Contest Rules and Guidelines

• Your design should be inspired by and the mission of Old Sturbridge Village (OSV).

• Your design will be on the front of the shirt, and must have “Old Sturbridge Village Redcoats and Rebels” visible on the design.

• Your design must be wholly original. By submitting a design you are guaranteeing that you hold rights to everything in it, and that it does not contain any copyrighted material, including images/copy found on the internet, unless clearly marked as published under a creative commons (cc) license.

• Old Sturbridge Village reserves the right to choose the color of the shirt.

• Must follow submission instructions; you may submit up to two designs, but they must be submitted as separate entries.

• Must be designed to meet specifications.• Winner will be asked to design back of t-shirt. • For design specifications, submission instructions,

Designs will be judged on the following criteria:• Concept/originality and striking/memorable

design• Captures spirit of Redcoats and Rebels• Visibility – eye-catching and visible from a

reasonable distance• Completeness/Feasibility – must be print ready

and easy to reproduce

Design Specifications:• Design submission should be saved to 300 dpi to

produce a quality output. Acceptable files are high resolution JPGs, TIFFs, AI and EPS files.

• Redcoats and Rebels colors are Red (PMS 202) and Blue (PMS 281). Your design should contain a maximum of four (4) colors.

• The design should be on the front of the shirt and should be contained within a 14 by 17 area.

• The color of the shirt should be a consideration for the design.

Submission Guidelines and Agreement: • All entries should be submitted to www.osv.

org/tshirtcontest with completed registration form.

• You must be 18 years or older to submit an entry. If you are under the age of 18 you may still create and submit a design, but it must be submitted on your behalf by a parent or guardian.

• Old Sturbridge Village will have first printing rights to the winning design. By submitting you agree that if your design wins, it can be used by OSV on a t-shirt and other promotional items, including website, marketing and public relations materials. The winner and image of the design will be recognized in our e-newsletter and on social media.

• The winner will be notified by email at the close of the voting period, via the information provided on the entry form.

• Please note that the OSV reserves the right to make adjustments to the winning design.
