You will want to either powder coat or paint prior to final installation, however it is very important to PRE-INSTALL the unpainted product first, following these instructions, BEFORE painting or powder coating any of the components! is will ensure that all parts are correct and any incidental trimming or drilling will have been done prior to coating. Also, it will give you a practice run to familiarize yourself with the process, to lessen the likelihood of damaging the finish during final installation. CBI Off Road is NOT RESPONSIBLE for paint or powder coating costs, damage to paint or powder coating, or costs associated with inadvertently painting or powder coating components that are defective or were shipped or assembled in error. •Slide the new cross member between the frame and brake line bracken and insert bolts (clean loose so the cross member can be moved for alignment) –Photos E, F, M

•Hold large skid plate up to cross members, slide the front in between the front cross member and the front skid. – Photo G

•Remove Factory skids ( Save hardware)

•Remove Tubular supports off front – Photo A -Set hardware aside to be used for CBI Skids

•Hold front Skid plate up to truck and thread in bolts, DO NOT tighten just snug – Photo B

•Install front inspection cover 5/16 x 3/4 converter sunk screws – Photo C

•Remove bolt holding the brake lines to the driver side of the frame – Photo D -Carefully pull the brake lines away from the frame about a 1/2”, save the bolt for the other side of the frame.

•Insert the 1/2” x 4” carriage bolts through both skids and the cross member. Place large 1/2” washer over bolt end. Thread nut on passenger side first as this will make the driver side easier (a jack may help to push the skids into place, the bolts are barely long enough to provide clearance for the driveline. – Photos H & I

•Move back to the trans cross member and install the 7/16 x 3 1/2” bolts using the large square washer on top. – Photos J,K & L -You can tighten down all bolts.
