Kate Cendejas 253.875-6502 [email protected] Like many artists, Kate wears many art hats including one as a muralist. She received her B.A. in painting from Western Washington University in 2003 and has since done many adventures in the arts. She owned and operated the Catbox Collective, a studio and art gallery in Tacoma, WA. She has worked with children as a private art teacher and also with adults as a printmaking teacher. She is also trained as a professional house painter since working from a young age over the years with her father, who owns a painting business in the Puyallup area. Murals have been her lifelong love since she was 16. She has done countless mural projects, including being involved with the Tacoma Murals Project since it started in 2010. Her ability to listen to what the property owners and community are envisioning, collaborating, and bringing her own style to each project has led to a diverse, sweet style and unique murals throughout the years. Her work has been on display from Bellingham to Olympia and shown in public and private art spaces.

In-progress community painting of a shipping container. The painting was completed over a two day period on the side of a 20’ shipping container as part of the Tacoma Maritime Festival. Kate designed and laid out the initial design and then supplied paints and brushes for kids to fill in the design. 2014
