Nuckolls County Fair

Open Class-General Rules Only persons in Nuckolls county or members of Nuckolls County Family & Community Education Clubs will be eligible to exhibit in the Nuckolls County Fair. Senior citizens (over 65) and citizens under age 18 can exercise the option of entering a separate class for their age group. Articles for county fair competition must have been made in the past five years and must not have been exhibited at the Nuckolls County Fair previously. They must be the work of the exhibitor. If only a por-tion of the article is to be judged, write on the tag EX-ACTLY which part is to be judged. All textile articles should be clean and neatly pressed and must be fin-ished. Intergenerational Exhibits: We encourage in-tergenerational work. Put both names on the entry tag. If one of the participants involved with the intergenera-tional item is not a resident of Nuckolls county, the ad-dress of the Nuckolls County participant must be used on the entry tag. No out of county addresses will be ac-cepted on entry tags. Open Class Committee shall consist of the Execu-tive Officers of the Family & Community Education Club Council. While the greatest possible care will be exercised by the management to provide a safe environment, we are not responsible for any personal injury. The Open Class committee assumes no liability for loss or dam-age to any property of the entrant. All possible care will be exercised in the handling and display of all en-tries, but no responsibility will be assumed for damage while on exhibit, in transit, or through circumstances beyond our control.

Entry Times

Entries will be accepted on:

TUESDAY, July 5th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and WEDNESDAY, July 6th from 8:00 a.m.-10:00

a.m. Late entries will be ineligible to compete and will not be displayed.

Each exhibit will be identified with exhibitor’s name, address, lot and class number. Perishable items that show spoilage or deterioration will be disposed of during the fair. By doing this, the ex-hibits will be kept fresh and more attractive for the view-ing public.

Entry Limits Two articles per exhibitor in any one class number.

Example: Lot L– Fruit and Vegetables; Class 1596– Red Potatoes: Exhibitors are limited to two plates of Red Potatoes. The work/item must never have been previously en-tered at the fair.

Identification Label To avoid lost or misplaced items, a label with the exhibitor’s name is suggested, but not required, to be at-tached to each separate piece of an exhibit, in case the items should be separated during judging. We are not responsible for lost items.

Entry Tag Each exhibitor MUST fill out and attach an entry tag to each article prior to entry. Tags are available at the Extension Office, or at the fair. Superintendents have the right to change exhibits to another class if a different class is more appropriate for an item. Tags should be filled in before coming to the fair, using the following details:
