Close Date: The last day registrations may be accepted. All program fees/balances due must bereceived by the close date. Those with outstandingbalances remaining will be canceled and replaced with girls from the wait list. (Wait list: When a program or adult learning session reaches the maximum capacity, all registrations received up to the close date will be given the option to be placed on a wait list. The wait list will be

utilized if there is a cancellation). Minimum: The fewest registrations needed for a program to take place.

Maximum: The most registrations that will be accepted into any particular program.

Limit: The most registrations that will be accepted into any particular program when there is no minimum.

Confirmation Email: A confirmation email will be sent after registration for an event is complete and another informational email with important program information and attachments of all necessary forms for the program will be emailed at the close date. It is extremely important that you read all of the information in the email and download all attachments.

Deposit/Fees: A non-refundable deposit of 25% must be submitted for programs with fees more than $25. Full payment must be made at the time of registration for all programs with fees of $25 or less.

Payments: Full payment must be made by the close date. If you are confirmed for a program and the balance due is not received by the end of business on the close date, your registration may be canceled and your space may be filled from the wait list.

Refunds: Refunds generally take 7-10 business days to process unless otherwise mentioned. If a program is canceled by council for any reason, a full refund will be given within 1-2 business days of the cancellation. If a cancellation is made by the customer no later than two weeks prior to the program, the customer will receive a refund minus the deposit fee or 25%. If a cancellation is made by the customer within two weeks of the program, a refund will not be given. Call 210-349-2404/800-580-7247 ext. 391 for more information about refunds.

Cancellations: Cancellations made two weeks or more prior to the program date will be eligible for a refund, minus the 25% deposit. Cancellations made within two weeks of a program or “no-shows” are not eligible for any refund due to expenses incurred. Scholarships: Scholarships are available for manyprograms (see program descriptions). The Girl ProgramScholarship Application (available online) should becompleted by the parent/guardian or troop leader and attached to the registration form. Girls are eligible for two scholarships per year.

Cookie Credits: Cookie credits may be applied only to girls’ registration fees for council-sponsored program events. Please indicate on the registration form if using cookie credits—and be sure to include the cookie credit card number.

Severe Weather: In the event of severe weather, please call the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center (210-349-2404/800-580-7247). Voice mail will be available 24 hours a day with notification of program cancellation or postponement.

Behavior: Inappropriate behavior on the part of any participant (girl or adult) may result in the participantbeing asked to leave the event without a refund.

GSSWT is headquartered at the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center in north central San Antonio. The leadership center includes a Girl Scout Shop, Resource Center, Volunteer Service Center, a large multi-purpose room for programs and overnights, green space, a large patio and plenty of meeting rooms.

Community Collaborative Waivers: While each girl must have an updated Health History Form and Permission Slip at all council programs, several community collaboratives require an additional permission form or waiver. If a program requires such paperwork, you will see this symbol with the program in the guide. This paperwork will be emailed as an attachment along with your confirmation email. You may not be able to participate in the program if this paperwork is not

complete when you arrive.

Safety Activity Checkpoints Adult/Girl Ratio: If registering for a council program, your group/troop must have at least two unrelated registered, approved adult volunteers present at all times, plus additional adult volunteers as necessary, depending on the size of the group and the ages and abilities of girls. Adult volunteers must be a registered member at least 18 years old and must have a cleared background check on file at the council before volunteering. One lead volunteer in every group must be female. At least two adults are needed per the number of Girl Scouts listed below:

• 6 Girl Scout Daisies, plus 1 adult for each additional 4 Girl Scout Daisies

• 12 Girl Scout Brownies, plus 1 adult for each additional 6 Girl Scout Brownies

• 16 Girl Scout Juniors, plus 1 adult for each additional 8 Girl Scout Juniors

• 20 Girl Scout Cadettes, plus 1 adult for each additional 10 Girl Scout Cadettes

• 24 Girl Scout Seniors/Ambassadors, plus 1 adult for each additional 12 Girl Scout Seniors/Ambassadors

Volunteer Opportunities: Adult Volunteers and Program Aides are needed at many council programs. When you see the Volunteer Opportunity symbol with any program, you’re needed to share your time or talents.

West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center: If a program is to take place at our West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center (WSGSLC) this icon will be used as the reference symbol for that location.

Please review this section carefully as it contains valuable information about program and adult learning registration and guidelines. NOTE: Program and adult learning session opportunities are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Completed registrations with payment received at either the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center or West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center via fax, email—[email protected], mail or drop-off by the close date will fill spaces available up to the maximum allowed as noted in this guide.

Tag-a-longs: Icons listed with each program in this guide will indicate whether or not tag-a-longs are permitted at the program. If you see the “no tag-a-longs” symbol with any program, absolutely no tag-a-longs will be allowed. A tag-a-long is any extra participant who is not registered for the program. This includes siblings, friends and adults who do not meet but exceed the adult/girl ratio. Due to liability insurance limits, most programs do not permit tag-a-longs and they will be asked to leave or remain

outside of the program.

Confirmation Email: After you are successfully registered for a program, you will receive a confirmation email that contains important

information about the event and attachments of

all necessary forms that must be completed and brought to the

event. Always included in the attachments are copies of a Health History Form and Permission Slip. Each girl attending the program must have these two documents present at each program she attends. This packet is sent only to the registering adult. It is that adult’s responsibility to make sure all participants receive this information.

NOTABLES OUTCOMES OF THE GIRL SCOUT LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE The Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) represents a leap forward in how Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

More than a century ago, Girl Scout founder Juliette Gordon Low recognized that developing girls’ leadership abilities was critical for ensuring they would be the positive change-makers of the future. Since Juliette Low’s time, the world has changed dramatically. This ever-more complex and uncertain world requires a new kind of leader—one who values diversity, inclusion and collaboration and is committed to improving neighborhoods, communities and the world.

The GSLE engages girls in discovering themselves, connecting with others and taking action to make the world a better place. This model begins with a definition of leadership that girls understand and believe in: a leader, girls say, is defined not only by the qualities and skills one has, but also by how those qualities and skills are used to make a difference in the world.

This more inclusive and empowering model of shared leadership is also the one most valued by girls. It encourages girls to take an increased responsibility for designing and implementing activities, resulting in opportunities for them to see how their actions can impact the lives of others.

The GSLE identifies three keys to leadership: Discover—girls understand themselves and their values and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world. Connect—girls care about, inspire and team with others locally and globally. Take Action—girls act to make the world a better place.

GIRL SCOUT PATHWAYS Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) has developed a more flexible model for participation in Girl Scouting. When a girl joins the organization, she becomes a Girl Scout member. Girls can choose any one, all or some of these pathways:Camp. This pathway captures participation in day, twilight or resident camp. It allows girls to participate in the outdoors and/or focus on environmental education. Girls must currently attend or have completed kindergarten to participate.Events. This pathway offers a variety of scheduled activities that are open to all girls by grade level. Girls may choose to participate in as many events as they like, exploring their skills and interests along the way in a variety of thematic areas such as community service, cultural arts, overnighters, healthy living, math and science, aquatics, environmental awareness and much more. Series. This pathway offers activities for the same group of participating girls, scheduled over three to eight weeks, relating to a specific theme or purpose. Series are developed with the intent that each registered participant attend all sessions scheduled throughout the course of the offering, because sessions are designed so that each day builds toward the next and culminates upon the delivery of the last session activity. Travel. These programs offer leadership and cross-cultural opportunities through regional, national and international travel. Girls can participate through council-sponsored trips or national and international sponsored trips called Destinations. Girls will meet with other girls and adults, participate in a “girl-centric” planning component, travel to a destination and take part in a service-learning Take Action project. Troops. This pathway offers girls an opportunity to work with the same group of girls in their own grade level, usually over a span of nine to 12 months, in partnership with two or more appointed adult advisors. Girls may join at any time during the membership year. The troop/group meets for the enjoyment and benefit of the girls, and meetings are built around the girls’ ideas. Girl planning, in partnership with adult volunteers, helps to develop a team relationship, developing leadership skills and allowing girls to benefit from the guidance, mentoring and coaching of

caring adults.

FIELD TRIPS, EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

Our community partnerships were created to give girls a well-rounded Girl Scout experience. A few activities have specific dates and times, but a majority are not planned and are available all year. Therefore, troops can choose a date and time that works best for them by following the registration instructions listed with the event. These programs require registration somewhere other than with GSSWT. PLEASE NOTE: As these are not programs offered by GSSWT. Scholarships are not available for any of these programs. All promotions listed are not available for purchase through TicketMaster.

Do You Know What Happens at an Animal Shelter?The San Antonio Humane Society (SAHS) offers a unique tour experience that includes an in-depth glimpse into dog and cat life at our shelter. You will hear about what we do, how we do it and our multiple programs, not to mention you’ll get to pet our wonderful puppies and visit with our sweet kittens! The tour covers all the stops a pet makes “behind the scenes”—from the receiving room to the surgery suite—before beginning a new life with their forever family.

Drama Kids InternationalCreative thinkers will be our next generation of leaders in America. This acclaimed program encompasses a large volume of fun drama activities aimed at increasing confidence, self-esteem and verbal skills of all students. Enthusiastic participation is encouraged at all times. Classes give mid-year parent demonstrations during the school year and perform a special scripted production at the end of each year for parents and friends. Above all, our classes are fun! Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas Interfaith CommitteeThe GSSWT Interfaith Committee provides information to the Community Interfaith Coordinators about all faith communities Religious Award programs and promotes girl and adult involvement with the Religious Award programs. In addition, the committee assists with presentations about the Religious Awards programs and encourages the observance of Girl Scout Sabbath/Girl Scout Sunday in local faith congregations. Council-wide events are planned for girls to learn more about faith communities in our area and to support Girl Scout Sabbath/Girl Scout Sunday.

Houston Zoo Wild Wink OvernightsSpend the night at the zoo for a fun-filled and totally unique after-hours experience! Overnights include hands-on activities, interactive games, flashlight tour of the zoo, pizza dinner, continental breakfast and a touchable animal experience. Badge Wild Winks include all of the above, plus participants will complete badge requirements. This community partner program is for Girl Scout Brownies (7 yrs+), Juniors, Cadettes and Seniors.

Jackson Nature ParkJackson Nature Park is located between the cities of Floresville and Stockdale, adjacent to Cibolo Creek. This 50-acre park contains a natural surface trail system over one mile in length for hiking, bird watching and nature study. Enjoy the multitude of native plants, trees and animals that reside in this largely undisturbed natural area. In the spring, the park is adorned with many beautiful wildflowers, particularly in years that receive regular winter rains.Interesting geological features are also present, such a large sandstone outcropping. Picnic tables and a restroom facility are available.

Admission to the park is $1/person and fees are collected on an honor-system basis.

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park-National Park Service There are 411 national parks in the United States and San Antonio Missions National Historical Park is the national park in your own backyard! The National Park Service has many programs for Girl Scouts ranging from nationwide, to park specific. These on-going, free programs are for all levels of Girl Scouts and can be completed by a troop or individual girls. Park staff can also help with Journeys and other troop projects. Girls should consider projects in national parks for their Highest Award projects.

Texas State ParkNature Rock’s – Texas Children in Nature

Kids and Families Who Play and Explore in Nature are Healthier, Happier and Smarter.

We envision that all Texas children and their families will spend more time outdoors, engaged in nature for a healthier and happier life. Nature Rocks Texas is one of our tools that we designed in partnership with our regional collaboratives and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to help connect families to nature in their communities. Research shows that children today are spending between 7-11 hours per day indoors, sedentary with media and only minutes per day playing outdoors. This disconnection with nature has ill effects on children and adults such as a rise in obesity, diabetes, depression, near-sightedness and attention deficit disorder. The good news is this is a solvable problem! Our 300 plus partners around state are working hard to create access to nature, develop curriculum that teaches kids about their natural world and helping break down the barriers that disconnect families from nature. We now know that children and families who play and learn in nature are Healthier, Happier and Smarter. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department supports the work of Texas Children in Nature to connect more children and families with nature.

Our mission is to manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. We provide access to nature through our state parks, state natural areas and wildlife management area, and we create outdoor opportunities for families with our outreach and education programs.

Program Aide Horsemanship Training Camp C S AIf you like working with horses and teaching younger girls, this training is for you. Learn to teach techniques used in saddling, bridling, feeding, handling, grooming and riding horses over the course of one weekend. Once you have completed the PA Horsemanship Training, you can practice your newly acquired skills at one of the Winter Horse Camp Weekends and/or Resident Camp. Upon 20 hours of service, or two weekends of Winter Horse Camp or My Little Pony, you will earn the PA Horsemanship patch.

Ride horses, spend time at the barn learning about saddling, bridling and grooming horses then, top off the weekend with a trail ride along the beautiful Sabinal River. Time on Friday will be spent meeting the riding staff and moving in. Saturday or Sunday will be barn time. Each group will spend approximately three hours at the barn. our planet. They play an important role in ensuring the well-being of our earth for future

Through Healthy Living programs, girls focus on physical and emotional health. By participating in this initiative, girls learn the skills they need to keep their bodies healthy, their minds engaged and their spirits alive. This is the first step to helping every girl attain her personal best in life!

By building strong, healthy bodies and learning problem-solving techniques, girls gain the self-confidence and skills needed to develop healthy relationships in which they give and receive the respect and trust every child seeks.

Valero Energy Foundation STEM Initiative

(Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

The need for skilled science, technology, engineering and math professionals is ever-growing. Though traditionally male-dominated, women are having a greater impact in these areas than ever before. In this initiative girls will push boundaries, test limits and look at the world through inquisitive eyes. Whether they’re building a robot, learning the needs of a car’s engine or creating a chemical reaction, girls are moving forward into the future.

In hopes to spur creative problem solving in our everyday lives, Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas and the Valero Energy Foundation are coming together in the Valero STEM Patch Partnership.

Girl Scouts who complete the Valero Energy Foundation Curriculum can work on a variety of projects, everything from engineering paper helicopters to learning about speed and friction.

Financial Literacy Initiative Wells Fargo is focused on the Financial Literacy Initiative which will provide girls the resources and knowledge on how to set goals and become financially responsible when earning and managing money. Wells Fargo understands the importance of financial education for girls who will become productive citizens and already contribute to the economy.

The Wells Fargo Financial Literacy program teaches both the basics of good money management and the skills needed to create a brighter financial future. The lessons examine financial concepts and decision-making through illustration, real-life problems, and mathematical computation. The curriculum is relevant to girls’ lives, and is designed to support their financial success.

Taste of Sailing C S AWant to try sailing? Here’s your chance! The morning session is for experienced sailors to practice skills and techniques while on the water. The afternoon session is for beginners who will be taught basic sailboat safety, all the important knots and will sail the lake with experienced sailors. Parents, please remember that the girls will get wet, so bring a change of clothes, socks, shoes and towel. Secured water shoes are required. Lifeguard Training A V New!

Earn American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, including CPR pro, AED and First Aid. Prerequisite: Swim 300 yards, tread water for two minutes and a timed 10-pound weight retrieval. Must also pass written exam and skills to receive certification. Must be 16 by May 26. This event is for Girl Scout Ambassadors over 16 years of age and adult volunteers.

To ensure that every girl’s experience is “wow-worthy,” our volunteers are given the opportunity to attend learning courses that help them guide girls through fun-filled adventures.

We have adult learning courses for all pathways and invite volunteers to share this experience to help girls make the world a better place.

All volunteers with Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas need to be a current registered member, have an approved background check on file with the council and complete required training for their volunteer role. These are the first steps to becoming a volunteer!

Adult learning courses listed on the following pages will help you be ready to volunteer in any pathway you choose.

Note: Troop leaders are required to complete Troop Leadership Essentials before meeting with the

troop/group.

GSSWT Adult Trainer/ FacilitatorFacilitate learning courses for adult volunteers. All you need is commitment and a willingness to learn the course curriculum already developed. You also will benefit by the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the development of girls, build your own skills, meet new people and forge new friendships, give back to the wellness of your community, and much, much more!

General InformationAdults must register to attend courses. (If you are not registered and there is a change to the course, there is no way to notify you of the change.)

• All adult learning registrations must be submitted five business days prior to the class being held to ensure availability and that the class has enough participants to be held.

• Any registered Girl Scout adult may participate in the courses and workshops.

• It is required that all new troop/group leaders and co-leaders/assistant leaders complete Troop Leadership Essentials before meeting with the girls.

• Babysitting is not provided. Please make arrangements for child care while you are attending courses.

Cancellations and Reimbursements Courses may be cancelled if there are insufficient registrations five days prior to the class. Fees for cancelled courses are refunded.

Fees for courses that are held but you fail to show up, without advance cancellation notice, are forfeited.

You may provide a registered Girl Scout adult for a replacement but you need to notify Customer Care at 210-349-2404/800-580-7247 ext. 391 before the course.

Financial Assistance Course fees are normally paid by the individual attending the course. When this is not possible troop/group funds may be used. Council financial assistance for up to one-half of the course fee may be available if troop/group funds cannot cover the cost. Requests for financial assistance must be requested using the paper version of the registration form. Assistance may be applied if there are funds available. Only one person per troop/group can receive assistance for First Aid/CPR fees; only one person per troop/group can receive assistance for Troop Camp Leadership fees. Only one financial assistance request per year per person is permitted. Troops/groups are encouraged to cover course costs whenever possible.

Persons receiving financial assistance who fail to cancel when unable to attend will not be eligible for financial assistance for 12 months.

Course Registration Registration can be submitted ONLINE or by downloading a paper form from our website no later than five business days before the date of the course through www.girlscouts-swtx.org.

Alternate registrations using the paper version of Adult Learning Registration Form can be downloaded from www.girlscouts-swtx.org/Forms. Select the course you want to attend. Then, complete the Adult Learning Registration form. One form is required for each person registering. Send the completed Adult Learning Registration form and fee, if required, to the SCGSLC or WSGSLC five business days before the date of the course.

You will receive a confirmation via email that contains important information about the event and attachments of all necessary forms that must be completed and brought to the event.

What Course Should I Take? When Should I Take It? The answer to these questions depends on where you’re starting and your Girl Scout pathway (type of involvement).

Adult learning courses provide a foundation for implementing the Girl Scout program while working with girls. If you have taken adult learning courses in another council, you may be eligible for a waiver. Contact [email protected] to request one.

New Volunteers Regardless of the Girl Scout pathway you choose training is available. Check out the chart on page 64 for the required paperwork and training courses for your volunteer position.

Recommended Timeline for Troop Leaders/Assistant Leaders/Co-Leaders

• Before the first troop meeting: Take Troop Leadership Essentials (required)

• Before the sixth troop meeting: Take a Grade-Level Essentials (optional)

• Before the first outing/field trip: Take First Aid & CPR* training

• Prior to opening a bank account (required if group has more than $25): A Girl Scout bank account requires two non-related signers. Any adult member of the troop with current membership, background check screening, and GSSWT Online Money Manager training may serve as an account signer.

*At least one adult in the troop/group must take First Aid & CPR training before going on an outing or field trip. It can be any approved, registered adult member in the troop/group.

Train at Home for Girl Scout VolunteersYou belong to a network of nearly one million adults who share an important commitment: preparing girls to lead successful lives. Now you can prepare yourself to be a more successful volunteer! Check out these online resources and training courses that you can access whenever it’s convenient for you.

Girl Scout volunteers with a current membership and approved background screening will need to complete the training required for their volunteer position.

Troop Leadership Essentials OnlineTroop Leadership Essentials (TLE) Online is a self-paced 60-minute course designed to provide the knowledge and tools needed to organize a troop, lead a group of girls and create parental support. You learn how to create a safe space for girls…a place where they can learn and grow. Complete this session before you begin meeting with the girls. (5200-360-1501-9999-100)

Money ManagerLearn the how-to of troop finances online! This self-paced 30-minute course is designed to help you learn the money management process and requirements from bank account procedures to filing required bi-annual financial reports while safeguarding troop/group funds. You will help guide girls with their financial goals and assist in establishing good money practice skills.

Required for volunteers who will be a signer on a Girl Scout troop/group bank account. (5200-360-1501-9999-100)

No computer access? If you do not have a computer/internet access, there are several ways to complete the training that your Girl Scout contact can help facilitate. You can check with your local public library, school, or community center to see if they have computer/internet access you can use. You are also welcome to visit the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center or West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center and use the computers set up just for you! We will be happy to assist you!

Go Gold Award Workshop – AdultsGet the tools you need to assist girls to GO Gold! at this Girl Scout Gold Award workshop. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest and most prestigious award a Girl Scout Senior or Ambassador can earn. The Gold Award projects the girls will be developing and completing actually change the world around us and you want to be the best support you can be. You will learn how you can advise and support girls organize, manage and complete their Gold Award.

This workshop is for adult advisors working with Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors.

Silver Award Workshop – AdultsLearn about the Silver Award and how to guide girls when they are ready to earn the Girl Scout Silver Award. When girls work on their Silver Award they are building leadership skills while working together on a community issue. Adult/Child CPR/First AidThe American Red Cross (ARC) Adult/Child CPR course and First Aid course fulfill the requirements for a level 1 first aider. Using the current curriculum from ARC, each course is three hours in length. Certification is required in both adult/child CPR and first aid to serve as a first aider but the courses may be taken independently, depending upon the expiration date of the current certifications. Each course is a combination of video, reading and skill practice. Participants may be required to pass skills and multiple-choice written tests. Adult/child CPR and first aid certifications are good for two years each.

Bring: If attending both courses all day, please plan to bring a lunch.

CPR/First Aid ChallengeCPR certification from the American Red Cross (ARC) is valid for two years. To renew your CPR certificate, you may take the CPR course or take a CPR Challenge. First aid certification from ARC is valid for two years. To renew your first aid certificate, you may retake the first aid course or take a First Aid Challenge. You will need to take the challenge courses BEFORE your current certificate expires.

NOTE: Participants taking challenge courses are responsible for demonstrating skills and knowledge of current ARC standards. To prepare for the challenge, participants may review existing ARC information on the website at redcross.org.

Participants must be able to demonstrate, without coaching or practice, all necessary skills. This is a pass/fail course with no instruction given. No refunds or fee transfers are given if certification cannot be achieved.

CPR/First Aid Self-Registration AlternativesGSSWT provides a variety of CPR and first aid courses. However, volunteers who cannot attend Girl Scout-sponsored Adult/Child CPR and first aid courses may take the courses with agencies that offer certification meeting GSUSA standards: American Red Cross, National Safety Council, EMP America and American Heart Association.

CAUTION: CPR and first aid training that is available entirely online does not satisfy Girl Scout requirements. Such courses do not offer enough opportunities to practice and receive feedback on your technique. It is your responsibility to ensure that the training meets GSUSA standards, including a certification card which includes the official agency emblem and includes training in both adult and child CPR.

Course availability and fees vary – contact providers early if interested in attending their courses. Other local agencies that may offer CPR and first aid training include local hospitals, emergency medical services and fire departments.

GSSWT OrientationThis session is designed for those volunteers who want to connect with Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas in episodic volunteer roles to help with events, programs and special projects.

ADULT LEARNING

Outdoor Education! Whooo loves to camp? Lead girls “out the door” to a field trip in the city or to a campsite. Any of these experiences allow girls to discover their strengths and skills, connect with their environment and inspire action to make their world a better place! The “out the door” experience is one of the best ways to involve girls in girl-led, cooperative activities where they learn by doing! To take a group on an overnight outdoor experience, each group must have one or more adults who are Troop Camp Leadership (TCL) certified. Women and men over the age of 18 can register for and take outdoor training. Let’s begin!

Troop Camp Leadership Option 1 (TCL 1): This course is designed to prepare you to take girls camping. Learn about girl progression in the out of doors and how to keep your girls healthy and safe while outdoors. You will also be provided resources to learn skills such as tying knots and navigation by compass, as well as a review of basic environmental awareness. A variety of outdoor cooking methods will be taught and you will plan your own meals before the campout.

Prerequisite: Attend the corresponding TCL Planning Session prior to campout.

Requirements: Participants must have a current Girl Scout membership and have an approved background check with Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas two weeks prior to attending the planning session.

Fee: $15/person

Note: You will be issued a TCL certification number after completion of both the planning and camping TCL sessions. In order to take a group on an overnight outdoor experience, each group must have one or more adults who are TCL-certified. Women and men 18+ can take the training. TCL-certification is valid for 3 years.

Each participant must attend one of the following planning sessions (below) AND the scheduled campout. Must register five business days prior to class date.
