The Table Series includes the Super-Elliptical™, the Super-Circular™, circular and rectangular tables designed by Piet Hein, Bruno Mathsson and Arne Jacobsen. The most prominent member

of the series, the Super-Elliptical table, was inspired by the designer Piet Hein’s solution to a traffic problem at Sergels Torg in Stockholm: a super elliptical roundabout. This variation of an oval

possesses some attractive qualities and looks surprisingly harmonious, no matter the size.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONTable Series is the result of Republic of Fritz Hansen's vision of creating a modern dining table enriched by its status as a long lasting design piece. The longevity is illustrated by the remarkable quality created with Piet Hein, Bruno Mathsson and Arne Jacobsen in 1968.

The quality is enhanced through a special laminate with a surface that is highly resistant to scratches. Visually, the laminate has a low reflection of light and the result is a beautiful, opaque surface that is easy to clean and that does not show marks like fingerprints.

The matt surface comes to life through eight different colours. Whether you choose a Pink Colorado tabletop or a black tabletop with black legs for a minimalist monochrome look, Table Series colours and bases brings personality in to any styling.

The Table Series comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. The series consists of coffee tables, dining-/work tables and bar tables.

PIET HEIN (1905-1996)A rational idealist, Piet Hein was neither an architect nor a furniture designer, rather he was a philosopher, poet and mathematician. He created the Super-Ellips as a new oval shape for the creation of Sergels Torg in Stockholm. In cooperation with the Swedish designer Bruno Mathsson he later used the shape to make the Super-Elliptical table series, which Fritz Hansen put into production in 1968.

BRUNO MATHSSON (1907-1988)Bruno Mathsson was an internationally renowned Swedish designer and architect. An advocate of an idiom characterized by simplicity, beauty and elegance, he used the same principles also in the furniture he designed. Mathsson’s furniture was innovative in both technology and design, and his production methods involved bending of laminated wood.

ARNE JACOBSEN (1902-1971)The cooperation between Arne Jacobsen and Fritz Hansen dates back to 1934. But it was not until in 1952 a breakthrough came with the Ant™. It was succeeded by the Series 7™ in 1955, where he and Fritz Hansen’s names became a part of the world furniture history. Arne Jacobsen was very productive both as an architect and designer.
