Invitation to Table Tennis Training
Beyond Ping Pong- Training classes for kids of any age -
Do you want your child - or yourself - to get an early start - or an additional boost- towards enjoying the fun and spirit of the sociable, life-Iong, affordable,healthful, recreational, Olympic sport of table tennis? If so, read on ....
WHAT: An 18-weeks table tennis coaching / training class, actually two separate,distinct classes for: 1) beginners and 2) intermediates
WHEN: From January 24 through June 2, 2012 at1) 4 PM Tuesdays (beginners) or2) 11 AM Saturdays (intermediates)
WHO: 1) Tuesdays: Beginners of any age but with focus on children, ages 6 - 9years and older.
2) Saturday: Intermediates of any age but with focus on kids and adults whoalready have at least some experience playing table tennis.
WHERE: In the spacious table tennis rooms at Alamo Fitness Center - roomsequipped with up to nine tournament grade tables and accessories. Loaner
paddles (rackets) are available for those who don't have their own equipment.
REGISTER: Enrollment is limited. The Spring 2012 table tennis program is a jointproject between Alamo Gymnastics/Fitness Center and San Antonio Table TennisClub. For additional details including cost and/or to register, contact the Alamo

HOW: Coaching / training sessions will be supervised and conducted byexperienced, certified table tennis coaches who are active, long time members of
San Antonio Table Tennis Club, led by coach Gloria Cadavid (Tuesday beginners)and coach Clark Nicholl (Saturday intermediates) and assisted by other members
of the San Antonio Table Tennis club.
OVERVIEW: Following is an overview of the Tuesday beginners class, to bemodified as needed (especially regarding the Saturday intermediates), depending
on the characteristics of each class once enrollment is complete.
Each session will start with a warm up time. A concept will be introducedfollowed by a fun activity to practice the concept including, when appropriate,practice at the table. Achievement and skill awards will be given periodically.
