Die Cutting Instructions:

Note: Below we have provided both die-cutting and traditional cutting instructions. You only need to use one set of cutting instructions in order to complete the project. The chosen method is up to you.

Note: Refer to the Template Sheet (Page 7) for shape designations.

Tossed Dragonflies-Green (A)• Cut one 3 3/8” x WOF strip. Sub-cut into two 3 3/8” x 18 ¼” strips. • Cut one 3 3/8” x WOF strip. Sub-cut into two 3 3/8” x 12 ½” strips.

Water Lilies-Green (B)• Cut four 4 ½” x WOF strips.

Swirls-Light Purple (C)• Cut four 1 3/8” x WOF strips.• Cut one 2 ½” x WOF strip. Add Fusible Web to the wrong side of the strip, then sub-cut sixteen 1” x 2” strips. Use the Flower Shapes Die and the 1 “ x 2” strips to cut eight petals/dragonfly wings, four large leaf/dragonfly bodies and four dragonfly heads.

Swirls-Light Green (D)• Cut one 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut into twelve 3 ½” squares. Use the 1 11/16” Finished Quarter Square Triangles Die to cut forty-eight triangles.• Cut one 2” x WOF strip. Add Fusible Web to the wrong side of the strip, then sub-cut two 2” x 7” strips and one 1” x 7” strip. Use the Flower accent Die and the 2” x 7” strips to cut one right stem and one left stem. Use the Flower accent Die and the 1” x 7” strip to cut one straight stem.

Swirls-Dark Green (E)• Cut one 1” x WOF strip. Add Fusible Web to the wrong side of the strip, then sub-cut two 1” x 3” strips and two 1” x 2” strip. Use the Flower accent Die and the 1” x 3” strips to cut two large leaf/Dragonfly bodies. Use the Flower accent Die and the 1” x 2” strips to cut two small leafs.

Swirls-Dark Purple (F)• Cut two 1” x WOF strips. Sub-cut into two 1” x 12 ½” strips and two 1” x 11 ½” strips.• Cut one 1” x WOF strip. Sub-cut into two 1” x 19 ¼” strips.• Cut one 1” x WOF strip. Sub-cut into two 1” x 18 ¼” strips.• Cut two 2 ½” x WOF strips. Add Fusible Web to the wrong side of the strip, then sub-cut forty-eight 1” x 2” strips. Use the Flower Shapes Die and the 1 “ x 2” strips to cut forty-eight petals/dragonfly wings.

Add Fusible Web to the wrong side of the strip, then sub-cut one 1” square. Use the Flower Shapes Die and the 1 “ square to cut one flower center.

Tan Solid (J)• Cut one 11 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut into one 11 ½” square and four 4 ½” squares.

Backing (Your Choice)• Cut one 40” square.

Following the manufacturer’s instructions to trace the listed number of each template onto the paper side of the fusible web. Roughly cut out each template about 1/8” outside the drawn lines. Press each template onto the wrong side of the fabrics as listed on the templates. Cut out each template on the drawn lines.

Using the placement drawing and an applique pressing sheet, assemble the daisies and dragonflies as individual units.

Follow Figure 1 to arrange and press the bouquet of flowers and four dragonflies to the center of one 11 ½” Fabric J square to make the center block. Press one Daisy to the center of each 4 ½” Fabric J square to make four corner squares (Fig. 2).

Optional: If you do not have an applique pressing sheet, refer to the quilt photo and placement drawing position and press the shapes directly onto the Fabric J squares.

Finish the raw edges of each shape with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch.

Follow Figure 3 to sew together two Fabric G-Template 1 triangles and two Fabric D-Template 1 triangles to make one Unit 1 square. Repeat to make twenty-four Unit 1 squares total.

Quilt Top Assembly Instructions: Refer to the Quilt Layout while assembling.

Sew one 1” x 11 ½” Fabric F strip to each side of the center block. Sew one 1” x 12 ½” Fabric F strip to the top and bottom of the center square.

6. Sew one 3 3/8” x 12 ½” Fabric A strip to each side of the center block. Sew one 3 3/8” x 18 ¼” Fabric A strip to the top and bottom of the center block.

Sew one 1” x 18 ¼” Fabric F strip to each side of the center block. Sew one 1” x 19 ¼” Fabric F strip to the top and bottom of the center block to make the quilt top. 7.

Sew together six Fabric I-Template 2 squares and five Unit 1 squares, alternating them, to make one side border. Repeat to make a second side border. Sew the borders to the quilt top.

Sew together seven Unit 1 squares and six Fabric I-Template 2 squares, alternating them, to make the top border. Repeat to make the bottom border. Sew the borders to the quilt top.

Measure the quilt top and trim two 1 3/8” x WOF Fabric C strips to that length for the side borders. Sew the borders to the quilt top.

Measure the quilt top with side borders and trim two 1 3/8” x WOF Fabric C strips to that length for the top and bottom borders. Sew the borders to the quilt top.

Measure the quilt top and trim the four 4 ½” x WOF Fabric B strips to that length for the Outer borders.

Sew one Outer Border strip to each side of the quilt top.

Sew one Corner block to each end of the remaining two outer borders to make the top and bottom borders. Sew the borders to the quilt top.

Layer and quilt as desired.

Bind as desired.17.

Sew the four 2 ½” x LOF Fabric H strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.
