General Care

• 70% of damage / loss occurs at the dishwasher table

• Ensure dishwasher table has sufficient space to store

dirty items

• All washing equipment should be maintained and

checked regularly

• Back up stock - at least 12 weeks

• Check stock regularly

• Storage facilities should allow for stock rotation to

prevent overuse

• All items should be separated into type prior to

washing

• Avoid overloading trays or trolleys

• Ensure that all floors are clean, dry and level

Never overload trays

Always sort all items

Ceramic Care

• Ware should be washed within 45 minutes or removing

from the table

• Pre-rinse before washing

• Pre-rinse temperature should not exceed 43°C (109°F)

• Avoid contact between crockery and metals

• Abrasive cleaning aids should not be used

(i.e. scouring pads, steel wool)

• Minimise handling to reduce glaze abrasion

• Do not stack more than 15” high

• In order to reduce abrasion, do not slide items across

each other

• Use stock in strict rotation to prevent uneven wear

• Always keep enough product on hand, to avoid being

pulled straight from the dishwasher back into service

• Only stack coffee cups that are designated stackable

Never stack unstackable items

Only stack items designed to be stackable

Glassware Care

• Clean glasses in a glasswasher not a dishwasher

• Use properly sized compartment glass racks

• After washing remove basket and leave to cool down

and dry

• Never carry glasses in bouquets

• Never use glass in place of ice scoop

• Never use glass to carry or store cutlery

• Never let the beer tap come into contact with the glass

• Do not handle stemware when hot

• Use white cotton gloves or 2 cloths for polishing

• Do not hold the glass by the stem or the base when

polishing

• Polish the bowl first followed by the stem and then

the base

• Hold glasses by the stem to avoid fingerprints on

the bowl

Never use glass to carry or store cutlery

Always use properly sized compartment glass racks

Cutlery Care

• Cutlery should be washed separately from crockery

• Wash as soon as possible to prevent pitting from

acidic food deposits

• A pre-soak in warm water is recommended to loosen

food particles. It must not be soaked or left damp for

any length of time.

• Hepp and Elia cutlery ranges are dishwasher safe

• Use upright baskets to prevent scratching and to aid

drying

• Put the handle down in the dishwasher for best

washing result

• Do not overfill the upright cutlery baskets

• On completion of the wash allow the cutlery to air dry

• If cutlery is not completely dry after air drying then

hand dry immediately

Never overfill upright cutlery baskets

Always pre-soak in warm water to loosen food particles

Wood Care

• Clean with a soft damp cloth or wash with hot soapy

water, drying immediately

• Boards can be sanitised using an antibacterial spray, or

food safe liquid sanitiser, dry board immediately after

• Never soak in water or wash with harsh detergents

• Products should be stored in a dry location at room

temperature

• Do not store near heat sources or humid places

• Do not leave in direct sunlight for long periods of time

• Heat resistant – suitable for carrying hot ceramic pieces

direct from the oven

• Not suitable for use in the oven, dishwasher, freezer or

microwave

• Never place on top of or under a flame or grill

• To keep the product in the best condition, oil regularly

using T&G’s Wood Treatment Oil, or suitable food grade

mineral oil

• Ensure products are thoroughly dry before stacking and

storage

Melamine Care

• Dishwasher safe – however avoid use of chlorine or

chlorine based detergents or bleach. Consult your

chemical specialist for the best solution made specifically

for use on melamine and other plastic products.

• To remove fixed on food or stains pre-soak in a high

quality pre-soaking detergent

• For hand washing use a woven plastic pad

• Do not use abrasive scourers to remove hard food or

stains

• Avoid using chlorine or chlorine based products to

remove stains

• It is recommended that the rubber pedestals are hand

washed

• Not suitable for use in an oven or microwave

• Temperature range: standard melamine – up to 100°C

(212°F)

• Do not place on top or under a flame or grill

• Never heat food on melamine

• Avoid the use of sharp knives – this will scratch the

surface

• If the product begins to crack or split discard the product

Never use in a microwave or oven

Dishwasher safe

Never use in the oven, dishwasher, freezer or microwave

Always clean with a soft damp cloth or wash with hot soapy water
