ONE-TO-ONE (1:1) MOBILE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Tablets are designed for individual use and are at their best as one-to-one (1:1) mobile learning devices.

There has been a lot of research about laptops in 1:1 settings, but only preliminary research about tablets in 1:1 education

Current research on tablets pedagogical impact is focused on the first and exiting use experiences. This may give a distracted view how tablets should be used in education.

Educationally beneficial uses of computers will not emerge spontaneously from the deployments of laptop computers in ratios of one computer per user.

REASONS THAT SUPPORT USING TABLETS IN

EDUCATION

Students stating they have high access to use of information and communications technology (ICT) at school and at home also have more positive opinions about their learning, compared to students reporting low access and use at school but high access and use at home

There will be over 10-fold increase in global mobile data traffic from 2013 to 2018 and the growth in the number of tablets (41%) is over much higher than laptops (13%) or even smartphones (18%).

As the use of mobile technology increases around the world, there is growing interest in its use in education and training.

This is especially true in developing countries, where citizens are acquiring mobile technology rather than computers.

MOBILE LEARNING IN MATHEMATICS AND PHYSICS

EDUCATIONWe illustrate how tablet computers in 1:1 setting

together with interactive whiteboard can be used in mathematics and physics education and teacher training.

In this context we try to answer the following questions:1. How teachers plan their teaching material before they teach

2. How teachers teach in the class

3. How teachers give the assessment to their students

4. How teachers give grade to their students
