Dear friends,

Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus

Christ.

Ignored by Man, Chosen by God. Have you ever felt that you were

overlooked or ignored … like you were a nobody? In the Bible, we

read the story of when the prophet Samuel went to anoint the next

king of Israel. By God’s instruction, Samuel traveled to Bethlehem,

to the house of Jesse. He knew where to go and what family the

king would come from. He knew the next king would be one of Jesse’s sons … he just didn’t know which son.

Samuel arrived in Bethlehem and asked Jesse to bring all of his sons

out for his inspection. Jesse brought out each of his seven sons,

one-by-one. As Samuel prayerfully approached each young man,

God said, “No, that is not the one…No, that is not the one…No, that

is not the one.” Seven times God refused Jesse’s sons. Finally, exasperated and confused, Samuel asked, “Are these all the sons

you have?”

“Oh yeah, I do have one more son,” Jesse said. “I almost forgot all

about him. Little David is out taking care of the sheep. I’ll send

someone to get him.” David was so insignificant to his own father,

that when the prophet requested an audience with all of his boys,

the dad didn’t even think to invite him. However, David was the

very one God had selected to be the next ruler of His chosen people.

How exciting! You may have felt overlooked, disregarded, and

ignored by man, but make no mistake about it, you are chosen by

God!

Jesus said, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you

out of the world (John 15:19). “Therefore, as God's chosen people,

holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion,

kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” (Col.. 3:12 ).

God bless you.

So, are you ready for the school of life?Study to show thyself approved unto God..."2 Timothy 2:15

1. Get Enough Sleep. (Rest in the Lord) A good night's sleep will work wonders on your attitude the nextday and it will help your whole disposition. Resting in Lord will also make you fit and ready for the day. It willrecharge you. "Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him..." Psalm 37:7 2. Get a Healthy Breakfast. (Have Prayer and Bible Study) The experts all agree that giving a childbreakfast before school helps in knowledge retention, test scores, and overall learning. As Christians we needto get a healthy breakfast of Bible study and prayer. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the

morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.Psalm 5:33. Follow The Rules. (Use the Bible as Your Guide) School couldn't be productive if it weren't for the rules. We can all remember some of the basics. No fighting. No talking during class. No chewing gum. As Christianswe have the best rule book of all. We need to use it as a guide on a daily basis. But he said, "Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it."Luke 11:28 4. Try Your Best. (Do Your Best for Christ) Teaching our children to do their best will bring results and theycan be proud of themselves. It's rewarding to do your best. As Christians we need to strive to do our best inwhatever we do. After all we are doing it to honor God. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Colossians 3:23,245. Get To Know Your Teacher. (Know Christ More) One of the first things a student needs to learn iswhat is expected of him from his teacher. How does that teacher deal with homework? With classroom

policies? With grades? We need to know what Christ expects of us. Getting to know God will help us serve Himbetter.  And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts:if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. 1 Chronicles28:9
