1st February 2016

To: Instructors, Coaches, Parents and Athletes Dear Taekwondoins We invite you to participate at the 7th MOOTO Gold Coast Open. We are pleased to have on board our major sponsor Mooto. As part of the sponsorship, Mooto will generously supply a limited edition T ‘Shirt to all 200 black belt entries. Officials will also be wearing a special Mooto Polo shirt during the competition. The Gold Coast Open (GCO) has developed a reputation as being the premier competition in Australia. The Mooto GCO is open to all players regardless of affiliation. Any Taekwondo club (WTF style) are welcome to enter. Students are responsible for their own personal insurance through their instructor. To ensure we finish on time, the event will again be capped at 500 entries. This year all Black belt winners will receive an embroidered black belt in additional to their medal. Cadets will be on the Saturday to allow players to compete on both days in separate divisions. On each day prior to lunch will be show casing a teams event between the states. The composite of each state team will be determined after the closing date. The team event is by invitation only There is no coach registration or fee this year. Players will be asked to nominate their coach when submitting their online entry. If you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me direct. We look forward to seeing you on the Gold Coast.

Yours sincerely, Michael Tan Chairman Organising Committee.

Sparring Information

Coaches Coaches will be registered by their players during the online process. We can then monitor how many players a coach has and advise the club if they have insufficient coaches. A maximum of three (3) calls to the field of play will be given. Fights will proceed in fight number order. If a player is not ready, the fight will proceed with or without a coach. A coach may enter the court to commence coaching even if the match has started. In 2015 we had very good behaviour from the coaches. We will enforce the same measures to ensure this behaviour maintained. Two misconduct warnings and a coach will NOT be allowed to coach for the rest of the day. A coach briefing meeting will occur 30 minutes prior to the start time of each day of the sparring competition. Coaches are required to attend briefings.

Competitors in these divisions must have the Daedo efoot protectors. The new style efoots will be allowed. A limited number of foot protectors will be available for purchase on the day.
