Taiga Biomes are mainly located in North America and Eurasia. The green on the map is a visual view of where exactly the biome is located.

Black Bear

•The black bear is commonly found in North America.

•It has been described as having rounded ears and short claws.

•The Black Bear is know for its dark almost black color.

•Although it has no predators other then hunters, it feed on a wide variety of coniferous trees and small animals.

Snowshoe Rabbit•The Snowshoe Rabbit is commonly found living in the Taiga Biome.

•It was given its name due to its toes which are able to spread out resembling a snowshoe.

•The Snowshoe Rabbit is known to be 3-4lbs and 20inchs in length.

•This animal feeds mainly on grass and soft leaves.

•Its predators are the animals such as the Lynx, Wolf, and Long eared owl.

Long Eared Owl

•The long eared owl is commonly found in the Taiga biome.

•Despite its name, the long eared owl really doesn’t have long ears at all. It gets its name due to one ear being half the size then the other.

•The long eared owl is know for its yellow eyes and black beak.

•Its grows to a length of 35cm.

•The long eared owl hunts in the dark and feeds off small mice, rabbits, and sometimes birds.

Jack Pine

•The Jack pine is also commonly found in the Taiga biome.

•It grows to a height of 27 meters tall.

•The jack pine adapts to snowfalls and cold weather conditions, and also grows in sandy solid/ semi cold regions.

•The jack pine is known for its long branches, reddish colored bark, and its leaves as well as pine cones.

•The jack pine serves as a food provider for small rodents.

Black Spruce

•The Black spruce is commonly found it the Taiga biome.

•Its grows to a height of 25 meters tall.

•Its able to grow in poor soil and cold climates as well.

•The black spruce is known for its short branches, sharp needles, as well as its rough bark with a thick gray/brown color.

•The black spruce serves as a food provider for birds.

Balsam Fir

•The Balsam fir is commonly found in the Taiga biome.

•Its medium sized and grows to a height of 80ft tall.

•Its known for its broad base, slender top, and dark leaves (green on top white on bottom)

•Its branches grow at a right angle and its bark is a smooth gray color.
