CURRICULUMUniversity instructors and experienced industry professionals teach an enriched, diverse curriculum designed specifically to engage our students .

EDUCATIONPittsburgh CLO Academy’s Pre-Professional School boasts a 100% post-secondary education placement record . Alumni have attended prestigious universities such as Boston College, Carnegie Mellon University, The Juilliard School, New York University, Point Park University and the University of Michigan .

PERFORMANCESPittsburgh CLO Academy students have the exclusive opportunity to audition and possibly perform on the Benedum Center stage during the Pittsburgh CLO Summer Season, at the Byham Theater in A Musical Christmas Carol and in CLO Cabaret shows . Academy students have performed in numerous Pittsburgh CLO productions including Mary Poppins, Gypsy, Ruthless!, Disney’s Newsies, 42nd Street, Annie, Footloose, Shrek The Musical, The Sound of Music, South Pacific, Oliver!, Les Misérables, The Music Man and Peter Pan .

AUDITIONSSpecial connections in the community provide opportunities for commercial, film and television auditions for our students .

MINI STARSStudents audition for this Professional Development program designed for grades 6-12 . This exclusive group of students are exposed to quality training, performance experience, behind-the-scenes processes and constructive networking skills such as public speaking, public relations, social media etiquette and personal marketing management .

9 to 5 The MusicalPushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss . In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the

boot! While Hart remains “otherwise engaged,” the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down .

The Music Man JR.Master showman Harold Hill is in town and he’s got “seventy-six trombones” in tow . Can upright, uptight Marian, the town librarian, resist his powerful allure? The story follows fast-talking traveling salesman,

Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize . The catch? He doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef . His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, whose belief in Harold’s power just might help him succeed in the end in spite of himself .

Performance art is an expressive tool for teaching social skills, body language and the mechanics of social interactions . The CLO Academy’s adaptive musical theater program combines fun activities with experienced faculty in a non-therapeutic environment .

OUR PROFESSIONAL FACILITIES ARE SAFE AND ACCESSIBLEPittsburgh CLO Academy is on the 8th Floor of Penn Avenue Place at 130 CLO Academy Way, between Penn Avenue and Fort Duquesne Blvd . Upon arrival, students are greeted and assisted by the Academy Security Monitor . This monitor ensures a safe entry into the building for all students .

CLASSROOM SUPPORTLed by a staff of qualified and experienced teachers, students join advanced Academy students in an integrated environment that enables them to explore emotions through acting and music . Personal Therapeutic Staff Support is welcomed and encouraged .

PARENTS’ LOUNGEIn addition to our rehearsal studios, Pittsburgh CLO Academy houses a comfortable waiting area with free wifi . Parents are welcome to stay and take a moment for themselves or return at the end of class .

FREE PARKINGStudents and parents in the New Horizons Program can park at the ALCO Parking Garage located on 6th and Penn Avenue . Tickets are validated by the Academy security monitor .

DIRECTIONS AND PARKINGThe CLO Academy is located on the 8th floor of Penn Avenue Place at 130 CLO Academy Way between Penn Avenue and Fort Duquesne Boulevard, across the street from Fifth Avenue Place . On weeknights after 4pm, students and parents can park at the ALCO parking garage at 6th and Penn (across from Heinz Hall) for a reduced rate . Parking tickets are validated by the Academy’s security guard .

PRIVATE LESSONSPrivate lessons have special restrictions . Students will receive a contract upon acceptance into private instruction . All private lesson students who are enrolled in additional classes at the CLO Academy will receive a $50 (1/2 hr) or $100 (full hr) discount each semester on their lesson . Only 1 discount can be applied. Discount will not be applied to students receiving scholarships or financial aid.

ALL Private Lesson Students:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND POLICIES• Class sizes are limited . Advanced registration ensures enrollment . Tuition and fees are

due at the time of registration . Registration payments may be made with a check, cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover card . Registration and tuition are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled, in which case tuition will be refunded in full .

• Installment payments must be paid by a debit or credit card only. Subsequent payments are automatically deducted on the 1st of the month .

• If you wish to receive a monthly paper invoice, a one-time $20 administrative fee will be added to your first payment .

• Students will not be allowed to attend a class without completed paperwork and payment .

• Schedule, instructors and prices are subject to change .• All instructors and staff have the required PA Department of Education clearances and

TUITION PAYMENTA minimum of the registration fee plus 25% of the total tuition must be paid at the time of registration. The remaining balance will be due according to the payment plan selected . Students whose accounts are past due will not be allowed to register for class until the account is made current or payment arrangements are made .

DISCOUNTS• Payment in Full: 5% off total tuition; payment must be made for the full 32-week school

year (September to May) before August 27, 2018 . • Pre-Professional School: 10% if registered for 3 or more courses . Multiple class

discounts do not apply to private voice/piano lessons . Only one discount per student will be applied . Registrations must be received by September 10 to qualify for multiple class discounts. In addition, the Academy awards a scholarship every year in honor of the Academy’s founder, Charles Gray, as well as the William A . Maffie scholarship .

FINANCIAL AID DEADLINE - Friday, August 3Any interested CLO Academy student who meets the income guidelines and submits a completed application packet by the due date will be considered for financial aid assistance . Financial Aid can only be applied to the PNC Children’s School, Student School or Pre-Professional School classes . Financial Aid cannot be combined with any Academy Scholarships (including, but not limited to, Mini Star Scholarships and Merit Based Scholarships) .

Scholarship & Financial Aid Restrictions:• Work-Study is required for all scholarships of 75% or more .• Scholarships & financial aid cannot be applied to private lessons, fall or spring productions,
