I was so pleased to see the amazing Science Expo projects this morning. I can't wait to have a peek at all of the displays in our hall over the week. Parents, friends and family are invited to come and have a look at all of the wonderful projects in the hall from this Friday, 20th - Thursday, 26th September. Thanks to Miss Swan for organising the Sydney Sixers to visit our school last week. The kids had great fun, while improving their cricket skills. By all accounts the Hunter Valley Zoo excursion was a terrific day out for the children, staff and volunteers. Thanks to Mrs Erps for organising the day. I have heard some fabulous stories from the kids. It will be a day out they will remember forever. Please have a look at some photos later in this newsletter. Stage 3 students head out this Friday 20th September for the Netball Gala day. Please ensure you take your child / children out to the Wangi Netball Courts by 8.45am. The day should conclude at 2.15pm and a bus will bring students back to school in time for the normal afternoon departure time. Students should wear their blue school shirts and black sports shorts, remember to apply sunscreen and remove all jewellery. Please bring lunch, recess and plenty of water. A canteen will also be available on the day. A fee of $2 is to be paid on the day for the umpire. Next week, on Thursday 26th September, we will have our end of term disco in our hall. K-2 students will be discoing from 5.30 pm - 6.15 pm and the Years 3-6 students will be from 6.30 pm - 7.30 pm. All students are asked to bring their labelled water bottle with them on the night. Student executive will be selling Disco tickets in the morning and at lunch next week. A gold coin donation would be appreciated to assist with Year 6 Farewell fundraising. Currently, our staff have been visiting the local pre-schools sharing information and getting to know the children. If you have not enrolled your child or have neighbours, friends or family that are intending to come to Coal Point PS next year, please come in and see the ladies in the office ASAP as we are getting ready now for Kinder Orientation visits.     WANTED: PRE-LOVED UNIFORMS

    After our successful pre-loved uniform

    sale at the Education Week Assembly,

    we are low on stock. If you have any

    school uniforms that you no longer

    require, please hand in at the office.

    Please join us for a working bee this Sunday, September 22nd, from 9am - noon. We will be weeding, fertilising, watering and mulching the gardens in preparation for the Lake Macquarie Garden Club's Open Garden and Art Trail 2019.

    Please bring along: Gardening gloves, watering cans, tools for weeding and mulching, buckets, wheelbarrows, tub, tarp or sack to collect weeds. There'll be jobs for all willing volunteers! Sarah and Libby (Project Coordinators
