    When youre talking to people about your home based business it canbe easy to do too much talking and not enough listening but if youreally want to make an impression on a prospect sometimes you haveto be quiet and just listen!

    A lot of people like to use scripts when calling a prospect but I dontbelieve you can really connect with a person over the phone if yourebound to a script. People want to feel like youre a real person who isinterested in them not just trying to sell them on something and unless

  • you listen up youre never going to be that person.

    Much of getting a prospect to sign up is about building a relationshipwith them. You may have to talk to them 5 or 10 times before theydecide what theyre going to do. And when you know a lot about theirlife it will be easier to build that relationship.

    And keeping your ears open is not limited to talking to prospects. Ifyou listen up people will tell you that they want what you have. Peopleare always talking about how much they hate their job or paycheck orboss and when you pay attention youll know exactly what to say andwhen to say it to them.

    This doesnt mean that you jump in front of random people in thegrocery store line and force them to listen to your business plan, justpay attention for a good opportunity because they are out there!

    If youre not listening to people you might just miss out on a hugeopportunity to tell someone about your business.

    You might also be talking to someone who is obviously not interested.If thats the case you dont want to waste anymore of your time. Afterall as a business owner your time is valuable.

    By talking less and listening more youll build better relationships, findmore people to talk to about your business and maybe even cross afew people off your list. So the next time you find yourself talking amile a minute about your business stop and take a minute to justlisten.
