Note:-
i. The three / two free chances referred to above are not for EACH POST but forANY THREE / TWO APPLICATIONS ONLY. The claim for exemption frompayment of examination fee made in any application which is rejected /admitted or withdrawn will be counted as a free chance availed.
ii. Failure to pay the prescribed fee along with the application in-time will be liablefor rejection of application.
iii. The number of free chances availed by the applicant means, the total number offree chances hitherto availed by the applicant in his / her earlier applicationssubmitted to the Commission for any post / recruitment.
iv. If the examination fee concession claimed in the application is found to exceedthe admissible limits as announced above, the application will be rejected at anystage of selection process. The number of free chances availed by the applicantswill be counted from the previous applications submitted through One TimeRegistration and / or submitted directly without One Time Registration i.e.,before One Time Registration was made as mandatory. 5. MODE OF PAYMENT OF EXAMINATION FEE:-
Applicants who have made One-Time Registration must pay the prescribedexamination fee for this recruitment unless fee exemption is claimed. (OneTime Registration is only to avail exemption from Registration fee for a periodof 5 years from the date of registration and it will not be considered or adjustedtowards the prescribed examination fee for this recruitment).
Examination fee Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) is payable onlinethrough Net banking / Credit card / Debit card or it can be paid offline at SBI /HDFC Bank within 2 days from the date of submission of online application, bychoosing the option in the online application.
Applicants have also to pay the service charges applicable to the StateBank of India / HDFC Bank.
Applicants can avail exemption from paying examination fees as pereligibility criteria.
Offline mode of payment in the form of Demand Draft / Postal Orderetc., will not be accepted and the applications forwarded with suchmodes of payment will be summarily rejected.
Note:- The fees once paid to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission will notbe refunded to the applicants under any circumstances.

(B) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 22.07.2019)
Applicants should possess the following qualification awarded by anyUniversity or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commissionon the date of notification.
(i) Degree in Travel and Tourism;
OR
Any Degree with Diploma in Tourism;
AND
(ii) Must have undergone Certificate Course in Computer on Office
Automation offered by the Department of Technical Education,
Government of Tamil Nadu or any equivalent courses offered
by any institution recognized by Department of Electronics
and Information Technology of Government of India – All
India Diploma programs or any higher level program in which
office automation is a subject like DOEACC - ‘O’ level, ‘A’ level,
etc…”
AND
(iii) Proficiency in English and Tamil:
Should have studied Tamil and English as one of the Subject in
Degree Course.
(Para 11 of Instructions to Applicants will not apply for this recruitment)Note:
(i) The qualification prescribed for this post should have been obtained by passingthe required qualification in the order of studies viz., 10th + HSC or its equivalent+ U.G. degree / U.G. Degree with Diploma.

All the eligibility criteria for the claims of Educational qualification /
Technical qualifications including the publication of results and claims

(C) CERTIFICATE OF PHYSICAL FITNESS
Candidates selected for appointment to the posts will be required to produce a
Certificate of Physical Fitness in the form prescribed below:-

7. CONCESSIONS:-(i) Concessions in the matter of age and/or fees allowed to SCs,
SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs, Destitute Widows,
Ex-servicemen, other categories of persons etc., are given in para
12 to 14 of the “Instructions to Applicants”.
(ii) Persons claiming concession referred to above have to produce
evidence for such claim when called for, otherwise their application
will be liable for rejection.
Note:
(i) In all cases, an Ex-Serviceman once recruited to a post in any class
or service or category, cannot claim the concession of being called
an Ex-Serviceman for his further recruitment.

(ii) Fee Concession / Age Concession with regard to Differently Abled
Persons under para 12 and para 14(b) of the ‘Instructions to

8. SCHEME OF MAIN WRITTEN EXAMINATION (OBJECTIVE TYPE):-
Note:- (i) The questions in Paper-I will be set in English only.(ii) The questions in Paper-II will be set both in English and Tamil and will
contain questions on General Studies (75 questions), Aptitude and MentalAbility Test (25 questions)
Refer para 22 of “Instructions to Applicants” in regard to instructions to befollowed while appearing for competitive examinations conducted by theCommission.
The Syllabi for the said subjects are furnished in Annexure – I(a) of thisNotification and also available in the Commission’s website www.tnpsc.gov.in.

10. SELECTION PROCEDURE
Based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the Main WrittenExamination, the tentative list of eligible candidates will be announced in theCommission’s website for uploading all the certificates in support of their claimfor certificate verification. After verification, the eligible candidates will besummoned for counselling to allot the post in the order of rank and category towhich they are eligible as per the vacancy position.
11. NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE / INFORMATION TO THE EMPLOYER
Persons who are in service should apply for this examination only afterinforming the appointing authority. No Objection Certificate obtained fromappropriate authority shall be produced at the time of Certificate Verification /Counselling or within the time granted in exceptional cases, failing which, theapplication will be rejected. For details refer para 15 (g) of Commission’s“Instructions to Applicants”. Any violation of this instruction will be liable for /end in rejection of application and forfeit his/her candidature. Person who getsemployment in Government Services after the submission of their applicationsshould also produce the No Objection Certificate at the time of Certificateverification / Counselling.
12. GENERAL INFORMATION:-
A) The Rule of reservation of appointments applies to this recruitment.
B) In G.O.Ms.No.145, Personnel and Administrative Reforms(S) Department dated30.09.2010 and G.O.Ms.No.40, Personnel and Administrative Reforms(S)Department dated 30.04.2014, the Government have issued orders to fill up 20% ofvacancies in direct recruitment on preferential basis to Persons who studied theprescribed qualification in Tamil Medium. The 20% reservation of vacancies onpreferential allotment to Persons Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) will apply forthis recruitment. Applicants claiming PSTM preference must produce certificateissued by Head of Institution as proof as per the specimen contained in the“Instructions to Applicants” for having studied the Prescribed qualification in TamilMedium. (Having written the examination in Tamil language alone will not qualify forclaiming this preference). If the Applicants with PSTM certificate are not availablefor selection for appointment against reserved turn such turn shall be filled up byother eligible Applicants but belonging to the respective communal category. ThePSTM certificate, in prescribed format / proforma available in the Commission’swebsite at ‘www.tnpsc.gov.in’ shall be obtained from the Head of the Institutionand shall be produced / uploaded when called for.(For further details refer para27(XIX) of Instructions to Applicants)

C) The number of vacancies advertised is only approximate and is liable tomodification with reference to vacancy position at any time includingreduction before finalization of selection.
D) The selection for appointment to the above said post is purely provisional subjectto final Orders on pending Writ Petitions, if any, filed at Madras High Court andMadurai Bench of Madras High Court.
E) As per Section, 27(C) of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Condition ofService) Act, 2016, reservation to Ex-Servicemen will apply for the said post. Ifno qualified and suitable Ex-Servicemen belonging to a particular category isavailable for selection for appointment against reserved turn, such turn shall befilled up by an Applicant other than Ex-Servicemen but belonging to theparticular communal category. As per the orders issued in (Proviso to Section3(j) (vii) of Tamil Nadu Government Servant (Conditions of Service) Act 2016),“An Ex-serviceman once recruited to a post in any class or service or category,cannot claim the concession of being called an Ex-serviceman for his furtherrecruitment.
F) As per the G.O.(Ms.) No. 50, Tourism, Culture and Religious EndowmentsDepartment, dated 21.05.2019, 4% reservation for Differently Abled Persons willnot apply to this recruitment and this post is not identified as suitable forDifferently Abled Persons. (Refer Annexure-II)
G) A minimum of thirty percent of all vacancies which are to be filled through directrecruitment shall be set apart for women candidates. If no qualified and suitablewomen applicants are available for selection against the vacancies reserved forthem, those vacancies will be filled by male applicants belonging to therespective communal categories.
H) Wherever vacancies are reserved for Arunthathiyars on preferential basis, evenafter filling up of the vacancies reserved for SC (Arunthathiyars) on preferentialbasis, if more number of qualified Arunthathiyars are available, they shall beentitled to compete with the Scheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars in theinter-se-merit among them and if any posts reserved for Arunthathiyars remainunfilled for want of adequate number of qualified applicants, it shall be filled upby Scheduled Castes other than Arunthathiyars.
I) Evidence for claims made in the online application should be uploaded /submitted in time when called for the documents. Any subsequent claim madethereafter on submission of online application will not be entertained. Failure tosubmit the documents within the stipulated time limit will entail rejection of theApplication.
J) Correct and True information regarding arrest, convictions / debarment /disqualification by any recruiting agency, criminal or any disciplinary proceedingsinitiated / pending or finalized, participation in agitation or any Political

Organization, candidature in election for Parliament / State Legislature / LocalBodies etc., if any, should also be furnished to the Commission at the time ofapplication i.e., the details thereof, originals of the Judgement, order / G.Odropping further action in Departmental proceedings or any document that mayprove the suitability of such Applicants for a Government appointment in suchcases must be produced at the stage / time of Certificate Verification andcounselling without fail. Any of the above said events that occur after submissionof application and before actual appointment shall also be informed to theCommission forthwith. Failure to inform the Commission will entail suitable penalaction as decided by the Commission.
K) Incomplete applications and applications containing wrong claims or incorrectparticulars relating to category of reservation / other basic qualification /eligibility wise / age / communal categories / educational qualification / physicalqualification and other basic eligibility criteria will be summarily rejected.
L) One Time Registration is not an application for any Post / Recruitment. Thoughthe details / particulars were furnished in the One Time Registration by theapplicants, the details / particulars furnished in the online application submittedfor this recruitment alone will be taken into consideration for this recruitment.Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission will not be responsible for anyconsequences arising out of furnishing of incorrect and incomplete details in theapplication or omission to provide the required details in the application for thisrecruitment.
M) Refer Annexure- III for G.O.(Ms).No. 90, Social Welfare and Nutritious MealProgramme [SW8(2)] Department, dated 22.12.2017 regarding determination ofcommunity and reservation in employment for third gender.
13. OTHER IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:-A) Applicants should ensure their eligibility for examination: The applicants
applying for the examination should go through all instructions carefully andensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions for admission to examination andfurnish all the required particulars in the online application. Claims made at laterstages, after submission of online application will not be entertained Theiradmission to all stages of the examination will be purely provisionalsubject to satisfaction of the eligibility conditions. Mere issue of memo ofadmission to the applicant will not imply that his/her candidature has been fullycleared by the Commission.
B) The Hall Tickets for eligible applicants will be made available in theCommission’s Website www.tnpsc.gov.in or www.tnpscexams.net orwww.tnpscexams.in for downloading the same by applicants. No Hall Ticketswill be sent by post. So the applicants should watch TNPSC website before thescheduled date of examination. The Applicants must comply with each and everyinstruction given in the Hall Ticket.

C) Grievance Redressal Cell for guidance of applicants: In case of anyguidance information clarification of their applications, candidature etc.,applicants can contact Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission’s Office Toll-FreeNo.1800 425 1002 on all working days from 10.00 a.m.to 5.45 p.m. or throughe-mail id [email protected]
D) After Notification, during the process of recruitment till completion of the entireexamination process, no information would be furnished under Right toInformation Act, 2005.
E) Communication to Applicants: Individual communication regarding thedate and time of certificate verification and counselling will not be sentto the applicants by post. The details will be made available on theCommission’s website. Applicants will be informed of the above fact onlythrough SMS and e-mail.
F) Mobile Phones and other Articles Banned:
1) Applicants are not allowed to bring Cellular Phone, Watches/Bluetooth device andRing with Inbuilt Memory Notes etc., or any other Electronic device and NonElectronic devices such as P&G Design Data Book, Books, Notes, Hand Bags andRecording Device either as separate piece or part of something used by theapplicants such as Watch or Ring etc., to the examination hall / room on the dateof examination
2) If they are found to be in possession of any such thing or instrument they willnot be allowed to write the examination further, besides invalidation of answerpaper and / or debarment. If it is considered necessary they will be subjected tothorough physical search including frisking on the spot. (For further details refer“Instructions to Applicants”).
3) Do not bring into the Examination Hall any article such as books, notes, loosesheets, electronic or any other type of calculators, mathematical and drawinginstruments, log tables, stencils of maps, slide rules, text books, rough sheetsetc., except the permitted writing material (i.e. pen). No colour pen or pencilmust be used.
4) Applicants are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned itemsincluding Mobile Phones to the venue of the examination, as arrangements forsafekeeping cannot be assured.
G) Unless specific instruction is given, applicants are not required to submit alongwith their application any certificates in support of their claims regardingage, educational qualifications, practising / service, physical qualification,community certificates and certificates regarding their physical disability etc.,which should be submitted when called for by the Tamil Nadu Public ServiceCommission. The applicants applying for the examination should ensure thatthey fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their

admission to the examination will be purely provisional, subject to they satisfyingthe prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before orafter the Examination and Certificate Verification, it is found that theydo not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for therecruitment will be rejected summarily by the Commission. (For furtherdetails refer “Instructions to Applicants”).
H) If any of their claim is found to be false, it will lead to rejection of theircandidature and suitable penal action.
I) Unfair means strictly prohibited: No applicant shall copy from the papers ofany other candidate or permit his papers to be copied or give or attempt to giveor obtain or attempt to obtain irregular assistance of any description. (For furtherdetails refer “Instructions to Applicants”).
J) Conduct in Examination Hall: No applicant should misbehave in any manneror create a disorderly scene in the Examination Hall or harass the staff employedby the Commission for the conduct of the examination. Any such misconduct willbe severely viewed and penalised. (For further details refer Instructions toApplicants).
For violation of “ Instruction to Applicants” in any manner suitable penaltywill be imposed as per the Instructions to Applicants or as deemed fit by theCommission.
14. HOW TO APPLY
1) Applicants should apply only through online mode in the Commission’sWebsites www.tnpsc.gov.in/www.tnpscexams.net/www.tnpscexams.in
2) One Time Registration (OTR) and applicant Dashboard are mandatorybefore applying for any post. Applicant should register only once in theOne Time Registration by paying Rs.150/- as Registration fee.Successfully registered One Time Registration is valid for 5 years fromthe date of Registration. All the applications should be submitted usingthe One Time Registration ID and password registered by the applicant.
3) To apply under One Time Registration, the applicants should havescanned image of their photograph, certificate wherever insisted andsignature in CD/DVD/Pen Drive to upload the photo, certificate andsignature.
4) Applicants who have already registered in One Time Registration on orbefore 29.09.2015 shall use their existing user ID and Password tocreate applicants Dashboard in the new One Time Registration system.No applicant is permitted to create more than one registration ID in OneTime Registration.

5) Applicant should enter the Unique ID and password to view the alreadyavailable information and update them.
6) One Time Registration is not an application for any post. It is just acollection of information from the applicants and giving a separatedashboard to each applicant to facilitate them to maintain their ownprofile. Applicants who wish to apply for any post shall click “Apply”against the post Notified in the Commission’s Website using the sameUSER ID and PASSWORD given for ONE TIME REGISTRATION.
7) Applicants are required to upload their photograph and signature as perthe specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload ofPhotograph and Signature.
8) Online application uploaded without the photograph, specifieddocuments and signature will be rejected.
9) All the particulars mentioned in the online application including Name ofthe Applicant, Educational qualifications, Communal Category, Date ofBirth, Gender, Address, Email ID, Centre of Examination, Governmentemployee, etc., will be considered as final and no Modifications will beallowed after the submission of online application. Once an application issubmitted no further request for change of details will be entertained.
10) Print Option:-a) After submitting the application, applicants can print / save their
application in PDF format.b) On entering user ID and password, applicants can download their
application and print, if required.c) Need not send the printout of the online application or any other
supporting documents to the Commission. The application and certificateswill be verified only when the applicants come up for next stage ofselection.
d) One Time Registration will not be considered as an application for any post.e)
15. UPLOAD OF DOCUMENTS:-
