10

Life Cycle Management• Define Levels of Service (LOS) for each asset

• Explain how the LOS will be achieved

• Identify key issues & strategies for managing these issues

• Determine approximate value and remaining life of the asset

• Asset risk and the ways to manage the risk

• Define revenue plan and historical expenditures

• Identify data reliability

10

Page 11: TAMPering with Research-

11

Performance Management• Performance management evaluates data

against targets and goals set in the TAMP

• Performance Measurement - Dashboard

–High level way of sharing information

– Informs Public/Staff of Department Priorities

–Sets Public Expectations

–Celebrates our successes and identifies our challenges

Highlights of TAMP Evolvement at GDOT

• Evolved simultaneously with initial TAM efforts

• Collaborative effort of different GDOT units/offices

• Plan focuses on pavements, bridges and signs

• It is a living document; it has already changed twice

• A separate unit established to focus on TAM and develop the plan

Where does TAM fit at GDOT?

STRATEGIC PLANNING

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

ASSET MANAGEMENT

An effective TAM program requires the coordinated

effort of three things

14

RESEARCH

15

What’s Next

• Named a Risk Manager in 2013– Pilot for SHRP2 R09- Risk Management in

Complex projects• Current IT project to develop data warehouse• Looking at how to incorporate risk further

into TAM, and, how to measure and manage data better …future research projects?
