Tank chime protection STOPAQ Case study
Tank chime area protection
Stopaq range of products were developed in the field, for application in the field, making it easy to apply following simple steps but still offering the corrosion prevention required using:
• Visco-elastic behavior, saturating pores and micro cracks and withstanding substrate movement, expansion, contraction, torsion, elongation
• Van Der Waals forces offering molecular adhesion to any substrate
• Pure polymer composition evading aging, offering lifetime protection
• PIB based, offering a water and gas tight barrier
• Components safe for the users and the environment with NSF and KIWA approvals
There is no difficulty
The STOPAQ material is fully impermeable (Oxygen & Water tight).
Seal off the edges not allowing water & moisture to corrode from edges.
STOPAQ stays flexible forever, does not cure, crack or tear. It will resist
tank movement.
STOPAQ will flow into pores of concrete creating strong adhesion and it
also adheres to steel.
STOPAQ materials are non-toxic and do not harm environment and/or
people, at all (NSF & KIWA Approved).
Remove - Loose rust - Loose paint - Loose concrete - Dust
We recommend the MBX bristle blaster for small area cleaning and warm dry air for de-dusting. Steam cleaning would be preferred for large surfaces but making sure the surface is dry prior to application of Stopaq tank chime solution. STEAM CLEANING. IN CASE OF BITUMEN, CLEANING AND
PREHEATING SURFACE to 60c.
Surface must be dust free and dry, before continuing to the application
Use Stopaq Wrappingband EZ to check the surface cleanliness
Install the backing foam
Apply Stopaq 4200 Filler
Apply evenly to join steel and concrete not smearing the filler
Manual and air operated application tools are available
Lay the Stopaq EZ
Cut to form around connections
Apply around man holes and service doors
Apply topcoat on the Stopaq Wrappingband EZ
Contact Stopaq BV for proposed esthetic coatings to verify compatibility
