•Colonial era, few tanneries in large cities such asKarachi, Lahore, and New Delhi etc.

• In the 1950s the number of well-equipped tanneriesincreased in Karachi, Lahore, Hyderabad, Kasur,Sialkot, Multan, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura, Peshawarand Gujranwala.
